Those trumpets are really
I see stuff like this end up in the charts some day. And then the whole stuff becomes commercial and gets ruined by the pigs

i don't see it coming to the charts all to fast, never heard real dub in the charts either, and that genre is still kicking ass (listening to 'scientist wins the world cup' at the moment. it's a classic dub album, and it's a piece of beauty)

Drumnbass had a real commercial period with Roni Size & Reprazent back in the days. Around '99 it got pushed bigtime on national radio in Belgium but a lot of people complained about it. Later there was this Kosheen crap but that didn't last long. All in all DnB was very modest when it comes to chart successes.
The biggest chance for dubstep is a remix from an average track from a wellknown band.
We 've seen similiar things happen in the past with Starsailor - Four To The Floor (Thin White Duke Mix), Cornershop's Brimful of Asha (Norman Cook Remix), Voodoo people from Prodigy (Pendulum remix)

all music genere are like that, for them to break without crossing genere's like remixes, is aparant that the genere is getting big tho.
regge is getting big without any genere crossing, where as hip hop had to cross with bands like aoersmith wlak this way and beastie boys. which made hip-hop almost an over night, where the music was being seen strong by itself after. but this dubstep is the most club orientated music ever it almost boarders gimmik like IDM.
basicly i see it the same, dnb is a genere that is more broad and has strength to b more then a niche genere. like hip hop there's smooth tracks there's gritty tracskt ehre's soem commercial tracks, tehre's some quirky tracsk (sir mixalot).
it got mainstream on it's own without crossing genere's which says a lot about how good it can be. unlike dubstep which will be lucky to be around in 10 years. i know it's amazing in clubs but unless you have have 20 16 inch subs when you listen to it, it loses that effect. it'll probably have a niche market for a while, cuz most kids love to feel their pants jiggle in the club. but some people like to huff gas also.
