personally, i have talked with a lot of music guys, that go, yea, i don't think it fits in any genere. or they go, it's hard to put this music in a genere. some people just hate to have they're music in a box and a name, like it makes it less creative, or that their music goes beyond the standard of music. if it is outside the 12 notes scale, and isn't in some form of 3/4 or 4/4. then it's in a genere i know.
personally i have yet to find a style of music that doesn't have a genre. IDM is just a blanket title... like Trip-Hop, and DRUM AND BASS. this is why people hate it.
if you make durm and bass you're int he same genere as the hardest grimest and the softest stupidest. not like HARD BLACK DEATH METAL. you know where you stand there.

THE FORUM MADE ME DO IT (thats what i will say when the other styles become a hit and i become famous and people look down on me from moving to commercial from underground.,)
