You tell 'em Seven! Some of these shit-hot producers are far too smug and lazy for their own good. Give 'em hell, I say!!
But seriously, good point man. It doesn't take long to write a few comments. It bums you out when you make a point of reviewing everyone else's tunes and then when you post a tune of your own, only a fraction of those respond. Oh well.
Having said that, this site is waaayy ahead of others. For me, it's like a little dnb 'scene' on the web where like-minded dnb heads can improve their own skills and check others out, while having a bit of banter as well.
Love it.

It's the everlasting problem, when people get signed or something they lose interest. Just bring on some new members, so we get more reviews

perhaps spreading the word about the site in more relevant places is whats needed.... and maybe adding/allowing other styles of music woud bring in more reviews (imo a dubstep and breaks section would freshen things up around here ). And a monthly (weekly would b better) dnb.be internet radio show somewhere would not do any harm, how hard can it be (original tunes, tune of the month/week, guest mixes from members, interviews etc etc - theres enough of a hardcore percentage of members to arrange at least a years worth of shows as long as people get their act together) would be good exposure for the site and the djs/producers.
blah blah blah

Nice idea!
Most of us probably already do this but the people who use this website should definitely try and get more dnb producers to check out this site.
We should make a point of biggin up this site when we're in other forums, writing comments on MySpace pages, etc, etc. Also, I reckon we should be able to place a little image on our MySpace pages to promote this website.

you are a wise munki arent you?
its true tho...this is one of the best points i have seen recently....
a dubstep and breaks section of the site would bring in
lots more peeps and add more depth. also, its not too criminal,
as these styles are a similar enough to dnb to be relevant us (and i make dubstep too).
@thechronic....
what do you reckon mate?

Would bring up an old problem though.. The name of the site is kinda clear about what to expect on here.... 3 urls is no good (google rankings for sites with multiple urls are not the best). A name change would be hard shit too, but maybe the path to walk if things had to be opened up. Chronic has put a lot of work in getting a good google ranking with this site, it would mean we would have to start that all over. Chronic is a busy man and I help out as much as I can, but it is hard to carry such an operation. We would need several motivated people to get this going.
For reviews it might be confusing. I can see some dubstep had complaining about the speed of a DnB track etc...
But I agree that the DnB corner is a small one.
The biggest problem is that even motivated people drop out after some time, either because of changed interests or (semi)professional approach (record deal and the likes). If DnB.be could get closer to some labels or make it's own (digital) label we would be able to hold on to more talent (this could be called the dogsOnAcid approach).

what about a trance section?
nah id say keep it dnb only. why do you want new members? i think we have a good community here. improving in the production buisness just takes a shitload of time.
i could post a big fat dnb.be banner on myspace. anyone got one/can make one?

A banner can be done, no problem.
Chron explained that the hosting company raised the offered monthly data volume with 200%, but also the price got increased. To make sure Chron can keep this site up and running he'll need more moeny. This can be made through more users clicking more adds or more users giving donations where as the latter is not much of a "bussiness plan" so to speak.
So we need more users, or does anyone out there have a machine to print money?
Users can be DnB producers, other producers or simply DnB crowd (party people, enthousiasts,...) so we would need a better party calendar then.
I wish Chron got more time to put into the site, but he is a bussy man and especially in summertime he's often on the road, so I guess we'll have to live with this unless the site would become profitable.

hosting tunes and samples on here is a great feature but honestly i still dont think its necessary... i would be fine with external linking
or maybe just reduce the amount of tunes hosted on here. like previews? different versions? i dont think a bunch of users would solve the problem..
just a thought

yeh but www.breakbeat.co.uk isnt literally just about breakbeat is it. ok theyve got a lot more members but people post various styles, the one thing that .be has against other sites is the track hosting/streaming.
And its not like its gonna turn the site into an RnB forum

Who's going to do all those mixes and shit? Takes a hell of a lot of work and there are already quite some radio stations. If we want to find a new spot on the market we need to be more creative I think....
