Im trying to get this guitar loop to fit my track... I dont really know much about guitars and cant really tell for sure how many bars it is, I think if I put it into recycle etc it may sound too un-natural if I then move the parts too far from eachother or quantize them so I think timestretching is the way to do it... Anyone got any useful advice about timestretching/getting non transient material to fit well?

tap your foot in time to the loop. if you get 4 beats that should be a bar. if you're afraid it doesn't sound right, then use a different sample.
.rex sound fairly good streched out. and don't worry, it usually add's flavour to a track. guitars have transient. unless it's all slide, every strum/pluck is a transient. you can see it in re-cycle the big spikes.

i am a guitarist, if you want you can email the file to me and i can chop it up for you in recycle. if you are not comfortable doing this i understand. on a couple of new tracks i am working on i have had get very creative with my guitar phrases, especially the odd meter bits i've thrown in.
let me know if you like this idea.
