Hey, i am using reason, to create drum and bass, now im wondering how exactly you do your drum build up's, because i like to do some bass intro's without drums. But you gotta have some kind of drum build up before your main drumline starts. So any tips/hints/tuts to create this build up effect?

Thx

the use of delays and panning the delay is done quite a few times in tracks... or the typical increasing the amounts of kicks and snares to the buildup... or inserting reverbs and reverse efx to the climax... or inserting a drum loop thats reversed.. the possibilities are endless.. and its your creativity that decides the climax... which is to me the most memorable part of a track...
but if you mean just normal buildup.. i usually start a track with some kick x snare.. and some percussion.. and then later in the main line use all the fullness of percussion and hihats and rides... and then mess around with them as the song goes... then later you can start taking off a few elements and then bring it all back...
listen to some dnb buildup and just listen to the drums and you can prolly hear quite a bit on how it works.
