Hi Guys!
I was watching 'Lolita' the other night.I was really grossed out!So much in fact that I had to switch the channel. My girlfriends were all on about how it's such a ''classic'',and how everyone should see it at least once.I can safely say that my idea of a classic would border more on the lines of ''Pulp Ficton'' or ''Rocky''.The most disturbing part I think is the fact that it's a true story.
So I decided to have a game of online poker instead. Now that's the way I like to but an end to my weekend when I'm dying of a hangover
What movies would you describe as true ''classics''?Am I wrong in thinking Lolita is gross?

it's a good movie. which one, teh stanly kubrik CLASSIC, or the one with the bad guy from die hard 3?
it's suppose to be controversial. ignoring issues doesn't fix them, it just allows them to happen.
try to be a bit mature, it's probably a lot harder to see visually in movies, but the novels allows you to not imagine sucha stupidly young girl, and is actually a lot less unerving. it has good humor to such a tragic story. but it was a classic as soon as it came out. if you don't like it, just read 1984, about a 40 something with a 19 year old, or countless other stories that have the older male with the younge girl, but do not focus on it as a main point fo the story.

halph, dude, lighten up a bit.
the word "classic", is thrown around way too much imo.
anyone seen solaris?
(the clooney one)
biggest pile of shit i ever seen....EVER!!!
i can dig a bit of deep stuff like some introspective views
reflecting mordern societies peer pressure blah blah blah.
nothing wrong with pulp fiction and poker.
in fact, everything is right with them

Killer!
Check IMDB for the top 250 of all time, lots of voters, so I guess it´s pretty accurate.
Personal favourites:
Alien (all movies), Star Wars (4,5,6), Fight Club, Bram Stokers´Dracula, 8mm, Seven, Snatch, Trainspotting, Interview with the Vampire, Shallow Grave, Kill Bill (1&2), The Full Monty, Blade, The Matrix (only n°1 though).
Basically I like Tarantino, well made SF movies, deep down´n dirty crime stuff and anything vampire...

I think it's pretty gross too,but it is in fact a classic. You should have watched it til the end,but then again I can see why you wouldnt if you have a hangover. It's not exactly a ''Feel Good'' movie now is it.I recommend movies like The Spongebob movie if you're feeling a little bit delicate
Online poker eh?I have never tried it but I'd say it's great fun!I play Texas Hold'em with my mates every wednesday night.I want to get better though.I recommend you check this out!!!.Got some great tips on how to improve your strategy and skill.
So hunny, stick to the movies you love and know best.Only you can decide what you consider a true classic.Enjoy your next hungover evening with a movie that's easy on the brain and a big glass of sparkling water with a sprig of lemon grass and half an asperin!!!

Much to soon for that. The guy got talent, that's for sure, but I'm not sure he's up there yet.

virtually all of Kurosawa Akira films are classics to me. Seven Samurai for example but no one in japan has ever watched any of those films tho....
anyways for truly classic films u should try;
