i once used akai s2000, s3200 and a roland sp808. Software is the go nowdays for me, although when we play live I hook a midi keyboard up to the s3200 which is loaded with all my bass samples (reeces etc) so I can play my basslines etc. I find them too laborious in comparrison to software, although the fx in the 808 are pretty good for processing samples.

not anymore. although i might buy my mates akai just to run a stereo signal through the a/d d/a converters and see if the hype about it is true

yeh ive got one of those electribes hangin about in my room - they are quite good imo but since i got a laptop, it doubles as a toast coaster...

outboard is good because of the warmth but u cant beat the convienience and the sharpness of software nowadays. ive got loads of outboard in my bloody room - like 10 synths, 3 mixing desks, a few samplers etc but i havent given them a second look since my laptop equipped with reason. anyone wanna buy some synths???

anyways - ello Jaque - how do u hook that stuff up? u using a computer or just linking them all with midi cables?
