i was having a problem getting my basses to have phasing issues ( we like to call this 'wobbly bassline' i think)
so i did the whole detuning thing but it just wasn't vibing. then i realized... for a bigger wobble i need to use a pure sound ( sine wave ya'll) so i loaded up two more malstroms with both osc on sine and detuned them and WA-LA... a good ol' bass sounding like Concord Dawn is up in here.
have fun. i will post this new tune in a few weeks.

if you want movement... try using the LFO on the subtractor but assign it to filter freq....

you can assign LFO to phase, filter, fm and so on... The moving feel in the bass is mainly done on the filter i guess, but I have to try what you suggested.

i think i did what you said cause a bass i made last night sounds like its definately been drinking. though instead of controlling that through the mod wheel i assigned it to the aftertouch so when i press real hard the note goes all over the place.

the wobbly bass is from detuneing or changint he PWM (pulse width modulation). this give a varying sound, without dramaitcly affection pitch.

yeah halph... detuning is what works best for me. i used the other method suggested but it was real sloppy... plus the two Concord Dawn songs i've been killing to are say your words and morning light... say your words has the baddest drop i have ever heard.... except for maybe London Elektricity's song Hanging Rock.
using the mod wheel to control the filter frequency is a nice effect too, especially when the bass needs to stand back for a vocal or double as a lead in a drop. ( well it makes sense to me anyway )

phasing slightly gives it some depth, instead of just a pure note. it plays with the harmonics
