That new synth gets good reviews too it seems... although beta testers are not allowed to talk (non disclosure agreement) some mentioned that it is a killer synth.

Just had a play with thor. Quite a smart synth. Really interesting idea and easy to use. Easy to get some nice sounds out of as well.
It works in a kinda modular way, you travel along the signal chain, chossing oscilator modules, filters etc. The oscilators offer a lot of options, and the filter is versatile too. Even has a high pass function. You can also choose comb and formant filters, the formant works with an x/y pad which is pretty cool.
Theres also a load of modulation routing options which works through menus kinda like the ES2 in Logic. You select your sorce from one drop down, you select your destination from another. There is also a little 16 step sequencer for filter automation or even note sequences.
Sound wise its cool, vary varied and usable. Still has that inherant reason sound, but I was kinda expecting that tbh.
Didnt really look at much else, since thor seemed to be the major change.
Still not enough to persuade me away from FL and definately not enough to persuade me away from reaktor.
Although its interesting and quite fun, its still very limited and IMO slightly cheep sounding. Especially when compared to something like reaktor. Reason definately needed a more exciting synth, and this does the job, but I expect that most people who us reason rewire it, in which case, there are much better semi and fully modular software synths out there

I checked out Reason 3 ages ago, dropped it in favour of FL. So now I should buy Reason 3 in order to get a glimpse of Reason 4 and maybe decide that I'll stick with FL anyway.... bad deal
