Please check out my new track 'Slovenly Sand Hog' and post your comments here!!!
Howdy - yes, I'm still alive - been busy producing student hip hop tracks - living out in Nelson BC. Here's something new. Done mostly with sounds made with NI Massive and a few sounds from Equipped's sound dungeon. Unfinished preview. More DnB and Dubstep tracks to come.
wow wow.. nice one nosrac, really feeling this one...Don't like the first drop so much, drum are too"breaked" imo.
Violin sound sweets... nice work on EQ. The massive basses sound real fat.. funny, this track remind a mix of a few known tunes.
The second drop, @ 3.32 is the shit dude...if you build this track aroud this basses, I'll buy it for sure!! real dark, and still funky.....close to neuro. sound a bit like desimal here and there, very good!!
Maybe some of the ghost hats are a bit too "high", and too "present".
cheers Nosrac, been waitin to hear something from you, forshure diggin the drum's in this, load's of funky slippy edit's, mix sounds heafty crisp n clean, bass level's sound heafty good, this is right up slappin the inside of my woofer's, all the proper stuff cut's right through, dam heafty this be, build up to drop, and drop is insane, , everything in this track sound's like it should be there, nice work fat man, look foward to hearin your other new tunes when you get em done, big heafty pounding to the ass prison parts funny shit, heafty tune!
sounds like at the 2 minute mark you need some stabs taht have a bit more impact then thoes overly reverbed ones... the drums lack the impact needed. your tunes always rock and always need to be mastered better.
but other then that great tune, maybe a few more elements would help keep it interestings and give it a bit more punch. that's a great sound though... getting massive right now ...

fat mixdown on this one, lovin the cool sounds and fx usage.
very decent production. i am getting massive NOW!
only downside is, i dont think i could dance to this, too abstract
and kinda off-beat.
maybe not great on the dancefloor, but damn fine listen at home or in the car. imo.
cool tune.
large!
Bass is phat in this bad boi, can tell u put in a lot of work.
Drums are phat as well although lack a little punch - needs a bit more vol. Drum edits are quality.
Cheers producers for the reviews. I'll take all comments into consideration when I'm finishing this one off. Any comments on structure? I was thinking it could start and build with the nero interlude bit and then drop into the heavy stuff. Anyways - back to work on it - the final will be punchier and the volume maximized but I can't promise it will be danceable
Nice track, i like the beginning with the wobbling sound and the hihats, gives me that kinda india feeling
The drop sounds awesome and the bass is fater than my cat! The drums are nice EQ:ed (big ups for that!
) and the vocals at 1:30 sounds cool.
I did not like that "violin" sound, i don't really know why, but i think it could give some more speed to it to get the track rolling (hard to explain). The drums programming are just like Noisias and actually abit like Optikal Assassins ( one of my favourites here). All the effects in the track sounds really awesome! They match with the beat and makes the sound unique.
Nice track overall! I would like to hear more from you in the future

The drums in the first drop
:
- Made a break with single hits in Battery and got a pretty typical hum drum DnB pattern going.
- soloed each element (bass drum, snare, hats) and bounced to audio.
- equ'd, mixed and compressed each element seperately.
- exported the audio tracks as a single wav.
- did this twice for a) a slappy heavier break and b) a tighter break.
- imported both onto the same audio track and chopped into kicks, snares, hat stutters and ghost stutters.
- arranged main loop start hits in a pattern that repeats every 6 rather than 4 bars. Filled in the rest of the pattern with fills, rolls etc. that follow the bass sounds. Most of the patterns are single hit slices snapped to 32, some to create small gaps between them.
- applied a high pass filter (reso 30%) to the track and graphed in patterns matching the rolls etc. snapped to 1/16. Did the same with automating the volume and the pan on the track.
- lightly compressed the whole audio track and added slight send reverb.
The volume and punch of the drums will be adjusted in the final mix. I also plan to make a midi map of the whole chopped up audio drum pattern and then use Kontakt to layer additional kicks and snares over the ones in the original break.
The drums in the second drop/interlude were made with single hits, exported mixed eqed, compressed and then left alone.

ummmmmmm SPOR IS GOING TO SUE YOUR ASS!!!! Get your own fresh style.!!!!!
lol
Who is going to sue spor then??
evol intent, who will then again get sued by dkay or dylan or something, and them by tech itch, and he by aphex twin, and he by squarepusher ....
what is style anyway man? Other than a way in which you as a producer/composer at the moment feel best to communicate your musical thoughts to the silence....
anyway, nice tune, lots of energy, some really cool samples.
the intro is very cool too, the stabby melody combines a bit of the bulgarian dancing type music with arabic scales and oriental moods which creates a very nice atmosphere
after the drop, there's a lot of really cool stuff happening, and the production is really really tight man
heavy energy
ooo creapy intro....nice sounds....
hats create further tension.
like the other sounds coming in too.....
bass creapin
hear comes the drop...or does it.....
ooo heres the drop.....
not sure on the voice sample kinda takes the seriousness of the tune away.
some wicked edits in this mate.
i think that lower wobbling bass could do with more bite
Brilliant!! Wow, that was seriously impressive. As a beginner to Drum 'n' Bass production, I gotta ask - how do you get all those effects and sounds in the drum beats? I'd love to be able to do that kind of thing.
Also, where I can find more of your DnB work?
