just wondering if anyone knows a lot about room acoustics and mixdown...I get a lot more bass standing on one side of the room etc, and can get quite good mixes, but the other day i played a mix really really loud out of a huge genelec subwoofer and the mix was lacking real sub bass when compared to an electro soul tune... I recently bought some tapco s8s and im not that happy witht the low end to be honest.....

any tips on low end?

I'm suffering from a phenomenon called bass canceling because my monitors are placed too close to eachother (I've been told).

The effect that the bass can be heard better in the corner of a room sounds familiar to me. There's a lot of good info to be found on this subject e.g. check out this to get some basic info and maths (unavoidable) on the subject.
