Slides for VSTi's are not possible as VST standard doesn't support slides. It supports pitch changing, however, and you can control the channel pitch change in the lower subwindow of the piano roll. Just right-click the gray empty space on the left, and select Channel pitch.

you can do slides in vst's by doing wheel shifts, that's a midi input. you can do that in dashboard.

The easiest way is probably just to sample the sound and use the slide notes in the piano roll, or you could use the portamento button. Does vanguard not have a portamento button?
If you've got directwave you should use that to multi sample the sound you want to use.. it has a cool glide feature on it as well.

thanks for the help guys, but still a few problems.
i was more thinking about sliding from very particular notes, the piano roll method doesnt seem to allow specific note changes e.g. c to d#.
im goin to search around for tutorials for dashboard and directwave.
thanks again for the speedy reply!

Make a long note in the piano roll and press the slide button, number 5 on this image..

Then draw some more notes in the piano roll, the new ones should look like figure 11 and ou need to place them above or below (or on top of to return it to the original pitch) the original note to get it to bend, if done correctly the pitch will change from one note to the other... It only works with samples and native fl instruments though.
