its a lot dif than fl studio.the only prob is how smooth everything looks.once you learn where all the places to set your mouse cursor are ,its really a very fast and intuitive program.the 1st time ableton loads up it scans everything in the vsts and it takes a min to load.the 1st time that is.after that it loads faster cuz it knows where everything is.there is NO other program out there like it.and halph have you ever heard of richard devine? hes a synthesis professional and a hell of a composer.its funny cuz you said that "who uses ableton" and he says and i quote from computer music mag" i use ableton strictly as a composition tool.the things it does with midi are incredible"sooooooooo.........not to mention alllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the awards it has won in the past 3 years at namm.

yeah need i say more? like any software you are "testing" you must learn the way to use it before can really complain about it.the only prob ive had with it is that when i switch from ableton to reason my korg micro controller doesnt like it.i have to switch off the korg and shut down ableton to get it to reason and or back to ableton.maybe two controllers would be the answer to that but the banks a lil low right now
and if you are having probs with ableton GO TO THE WEBSITE AND USE THE TUTORIALS

hmm, imo, the live effect sucks a bit; better to use plugins; Those effect are intended to be used in a live performance, a bit like the ones on a mix table.
Live is awesome for a dj performance and to remix a track, sooooo easy; Of course, you can produce on it since it is vst compatible. The audio quality is just there. It is really amazing how the soft works, miles away from any others soft....Just got a 3 days course on it in London, I still can't believe what I have learnt.
The berhinger controler is one of the best around, and the evolution is a great midi keyboard, I have both and can't say a single negative thing about em... have to do a track on it now when I'll be back "home"
