hey, thanks for review, its pretty hard to chenge the melody as long as its a sample
all i could do is some variation of the main violin riff. I am not sure about your point in the drums, who says it should always be KsKs??? And you´ve already listened to the full version

its not a bad violin sample imo,but the beat seems to lack something.i dunno maybe its the speed of it,but the drums seem to drag and dont build up(much)or break bad enough.on a good note most of the sounds are clear and well placed(except the drums).not bad, pimp your drums a lil more next time.

i really like the mood in this track, it brings to me this feeling of being in the middle of beautiful nowhere in far east (violin does the job
)

That melody is nice, drums could come out a little more, but the whole idea is just perfect, just some more power of the drumas maybe.

Jessus that cello-kind of sample is givin me shivers! That is SO beautiful!
Ok, you got a KING of a idea in here. BUT.
That melody gives you a challenge. you just cannot go banging around with drums on top of that. This was not a easy one to make, right?
I feel that your cello sound is clashing tunes with your high lead sound, perhaps with bass line too. I can quess you tried it all ready, but this cello melody requires a complex, even orchestral background.
Do this:
Google this forum until you found TheChronic's crash course to music theory. Spend a weekend checking that out, using his links (and by just repeating the cello melody with piano) figure out what scale it uses. Please note, that this might not be in European scale or tuning at all, if it comes from china. This is going to be a bitch job, but will benefit you MUCH in future tunes.
Now you got weapons to start inventing supporting melodies.
Mixing is also bit soft, and silent. Have you used a mastering limiter? try it, o get more louder mix. Try importing a professional dnb tune which you think is similar, into your sequence. Now take a notebook, analytically listen the pro track and yours one after one, try to see how your mixing could be improved to get closer to pro track. Listen instrument and element after another. Preferably do this with fresh ears, in morning for example.
Also check frequency spectrum with Voxengo Span ( http://www.voxengo.com/group/freevst/ ) .
Get your hands to Computer Music 111, it's DnB tutorial would be very beneficial to you in terms of mixing advice.
Overall, 6-7 /10, good effort that can be reworked to be top track.

Hey,
what kind of compression you use for drums? Single/multi band, what attack/release times?

IMHO, nice intro. asian strings always give a nice distinc sound... interesting.
the drum loop in the start has a bad click at the end of it.
the overall mix is quiet. the base is too quite. it's nce but need to compress it a bit, it's a fantstic bassline. i love that bass fits so well with it all, just gives a great feel.
yea when the drop comes you can layer another snare ontop fo the drumloop. it'll help give it punch, and establish your drop slightly.
you should probably lose thoes strings you have going the entire track at some part and bring them back inbetween teh drops and lose them during the drops, unless you're going to do something special with them, like different pitch or effects. it's easy to let them run all the time, but it sounds more dramatic to use them effectivly and sparingly.
and hell compress the ell out of them too. the whole track needs one big limiter on it.
