cubase has a bit of a learning curve,..but its real simple when you get the hang of it,...and the knowledge you gain from it will tranfer over to any sequencer and will last you a lifetime,..well worth it,...cheers.

Cheers DJ Ryno Rage,..and welcome to dnb.be,..great site,..you can get allot of good samples free here>http://www.drumnbass.be/downloads.html,..though you need to have producer right's i think,..easy to get,..leave 5 reviews or something like that,..anyway,..yeah Cubase is worth it the investment,..you'll only gain from it,..its an amazing sequencer,...maybe look into a hardware synth also,..cheers.

sorry,..i got a bit silly there,...but its true,...anyway allot of producers on here use "FL 7",..and allot use "Reason"....there all the same really,..allthough reason doesn't have vst support,...but you can rewire reason into Cubase or "Logic"<another recomended sequencer,..,..cheers.

Don't select a DAW (digital Audio Workstation) software because of the offered sounds, they are mostly horrible and of no use for DnB production anyway... you need an intutive and powerfull DAW to create music. The sounds can be generated using VSTi's (virtual instruments) or samples you find everywhere on the web if you search a little. Just look around on this site to find links to tons of free samples and VST's.
I suggest you go for a DAW like FL studio or Reason, they are affordable and easy to learn (although to master it all the way can take some time). You can find demoversions for both so you can test and see if they fit your needs without throwing away money on them.
If you keep growing as a producer and want to go for the pro-stuff you'll know what to choose when the time is right.

brutal honesty there
sometimes the sounds do remind me of farts.evol intent-land of the fart bass
ne way to get on topic.i use ableton live, reason and a slew of vst and vsti's.really i dont think it all comes down to one program ,but cubase is an unentered land for me.so really i guess cubase could be IT.stupid dongle
welcome to the .be ryno

if you look into the http://www.drumnbass.be/forum/board.php?boardid=12 you'll notice the 3 main programs are reason, cubase, and FL Studio.
so you can use any or all of them. they work with eachother. but you'll ahve to learn a bunch of programs that each are full and indept programs.
cubase is good for recording and doing most things you'd expect from a pro program. supports VSTs so you can use other programs in it. and a nice clean sound. it's a pro program for PC.
reason is good for analog synth style sounds. doens't have plug-ins avalible, but it does everything you need for synth and samples. can't record with it either. used by crystal method.
FL Studio has plug-in capability, and is quite useful for that. seems to be quite friendly once you get past some learning curves. great for drum programming. that's the main advantage of it. it's nice for dnb and anytihng drum machine related. reggatron uses it quite often.

there are wsome bigger names that use Reason. i have it on very good authority also.. i use reason for most of my synth noises and fl for breaks (layuering in FL is the shit) and ableton for sequencing..
so really just pick one and learn it!
but learn ALL of it!
