hi people

ive been trying to use a phaser on my drums in order to get that common effect that i can only describe as "going in and out". i think u all kno wat i mean.

anyway i havent really got it to work and so i ususally use the 'cut' feature on the Scream in Reason.

how do i use the phaser so that its in time and not at random as it were?

Im usin Reason with Logic

cheers in advance

you can make flanger/phasers with delay units set it to ms delay. make it within 30ms. a longer time makes more a flanger, shorter time a phaser. you can thens et an LFO to the time delay and it will make the "phasing in and out sound".

set the wet/dry to about 50, more dry to have less effect.

you need to have some dry to cause the phasing.

that's not a real phaser if it has a cut, it's a punch of notch filters that sweep around randomly, that DOES SIMULAR TO WHAT A PHASER AND FLANGERS but it's not true comb filtering....

to make the time go in and out with it, make the LFO go in 1/4 or 1/2 time, you know? or just record a small loop yuorself tweaking the time delay nob.

anyways, if you could get a delay to go into .1 ms, you could get a better phaser.

night.
