straight with the lead, and you got some nice effects going, delay and reverb.

straight clown step beat. you don't need to have so many drum hits going for the rolls, small variations work well, it's noticable. specially after the breaks been rolling for 4 or 8 mbars.

good drop. keeps building well. the track seems a bit bright at this part though, the lead has a lot of high end to it, from a mix point of view. but it's filling it in well.

the lead doesn't seem to bright when it isn't pitched down really far. sound better.

the only thing missing is a good hook. a sample or something. or a really good odd sound. you know what i mean, something you'd thik about after. other than that, it's a good dance song.

to be picky the drums sound programed and lack soul, or Groove. some quantising a swing in there would help. if you're using fl, it's simple there's some good MPC swings that are helpful or the hip hop ones.

if not, most programs still have quantising that has swing.

cheers for your review Halph-Price, I really appreciate your input, and agree with what you have said. Good one on picking the programmed drums, I program everything from one hits, and as I grid lock all my hits it does seem to lose that natural groove, I will definitely have a go at adding some "swing" to them. I use cubase sl3, so will have to look at quantizing grooves to my patterns, and also have been searching for a vox sample but have not found what I am after yet.

Thanks again for your valued input, I will definitely be checking out your new track tonight.

this is such a great site!

to get the drums sound like one, it helps to compress them together and add a slight reverb. but these are advanced techniques, that only work if you know what you're doing with reverb and compression.

it's good to learn about these, they are the most importantt ools in mixing. try experimenting with these, and trying to find some good effects if you can, to work with.
