everywhere between 160-180 is natural for dnb, try anywhere between 200-220 for breakcore

Yeah, but my point is that you can make other music too, ya know, not just be predetermined for dnb
If ya feel like doing a dnb, then do it - you will naturally find the tempo. If ya feel like doing something slower, then you will automatically find the right tempo - so it doesn't matter.

Jeesus!!!! If you need help on what BPM to use, give up now. Im all for helping people out, but this is something really really simple. If you need someone to hold your hand whilst setting the bpm of your track, there really is no hope for you. Do you have a shread of musicallity at all?!
Sorry Im in a bad mood so Im being harsh, but honestly, there are somethings you should be able to figure out for yourself. Listen to a DnB tune, it doesnt matter which one, is that faster or slower than the 120 fruity loops is playing.
If you cant figure this out, then I dont see how you're planning to write music
This is a daft question, is the next one gonna be how do I make a drum beat?, how do I make a bass line?, how do I press play?.

The funny thing is that if you do a search all these questions have been asked already.

i pretty much agree that if u just fiddle with the overall tempo u'll work out what sounds d+b and what doesnt.
what might be confusing is if u hear a half-time break in a tune and then try to recreate it, because u might end up trying to do the whole thing half-speed.
anyway - top tip (hardly) but remember BPM (beats per minute) means EXACTLY that - so 60bpm is one beat per second (4 seconds to a 4/4 bar).
120bpm twice that speed. so just count seconds in ur head and work out whether that pulse feels right. if ur making d+b, it'll probably sound (i hope) horrendously slow to u.

My tempos vary by 5.
165, 170, 175, 180.
I know the question has already been answered but I like to contribute with posts.

Tend to go for 170.
Some people find it too slow.
Their problem

at this moment i'm hooked on 140 (for some heavy dubstep tunes) and 160 (for mellow drum'n'bass)

185BPM
all the way, up to 200BPM max,
it seems like 170 seems too slow, 160 isn't even dnb.
