So he's not a real producer is it? Imo it's better to explain things like applied human hearing and signal processing so you understand what happens eg when you turn that resonance knob up. Hence next time you have some sound in your head you wanna make, it'll be easier to know what knobs to turn instead of just trying things out without knowing what to do. Like the reece. OK, it's two sawtooths with some detuning, filtering and distortion. But it isn't that easy to make it really phat sounding, even when you know this, isn't it? And for the Dilly bass: 808 kick with some distortion. But to get the exact sound, you do have to experiment a lot, and play around with settings and filters. So I think it would be great to help people on the way, to give them a start, and let them do their own thing from there on... Like fe. What does a good DnB song need? 1. A break 1.1 a kick 1.2 a snare 1.3 a ghost snare 2. cymbals 3. bassline 4. etc etc and give a short explaination bout it + eventually some examples or how to make it sound different Other thing I was wondering: Last I made a song with some bassline, and someone told me ther was a lack off subbass... Are these 2 different things or??? how to make a reece has been explained a couple off times, so copy past will do hmmmm ... What else do I need to know.. A LOT, so any help is welcome... I am experimenting a lot (lately experimenting with gate) and learning a lot.. But aal those knobs make me nervous ... There are certain rules to mixing and making songs which you can learn from tutorials too!! I know that most beginning producers spend months and months experimenting just to find out the most basic techniques for themselves.
