Hello fellow drum n bass heads, I was wondering if any of you out there have any experience with the minimoog voyager. I am in the very early stages of research into this unit, and as I live 500 kilometres from the nearest city, I cannot go to shops as yet to have a play. i have read that you can produce just about any type of synth sound from this beast, and I have heard all the classic minimoog type sounds (thanks to arturia), but how does the real thing sound, especially in the drum n bass domain. Has anyone produced solid reeces with this beast? I have produced nice reeces etc using reasons subtractor, as well as the korg legacy collection, but now it is time to purchase a solid analog. (I have juno 106, and mc202 which are great, but studio only, they are getting a little too old to gig with) Basically i am after the moog to gig with, as they are new, they are stable. Any help appreciated,, and big ups to all who have posted sample packs on this site, they are a really good starting point for making good hard drum n bass. cheers guys.

for the same money i'd get the alesis andromeda.

still analouge just a lot more flexable.

there is 16 mono outs so you could have loads of sounds running off it at once .
my mates got one and it sounds amazing.

I played around with one of these a few years back when they first came out. I only listened to the presets as unfortunately at that stage I was not capable or confident in making my own sounds. Good point about the outputs though, especially when sometimes it is necessary to layer quite a bit to get that "full" screaming sound.

I have listened to many of your tracks jimmy c, and there pretty fuckin good. I need to upload some of mine to this site, but unfortunately her in the aussie outback we do not have broadband yet, and I still have to write some reviews for "producers" rights. If anyone is keen, check out: www.myspace.com/orangelozenge I have a few there. thanks.

The moog voyager is pure solid analog perfection. You cant produce every synth sound known to man, but you don't need to. No synth can do that. But you will have the phattest, warmest rich sounding tones that NO other synths can reproduce. There are other analog synths out there that could be considered to be as fat, but different.

It's all about that moog sound dude.......If you've got the money don't hesitate.

I'd still go for the andromeda.

yes the moog is tasty but its the andromeda can make the moog style sounds and so much more besides.
