hey everyone ,
i was just sitting around doing nothing and listening to some fine dnb tunez when i started thinking : where would my life be without drum and bass ? For example , say that sociologists would find out in a poll that dnb really damages people and it should be banned , what would you do ?
for me , since i listen to dnb all the time (possible) , or certainly 90% of the time ; i would have to find myself a new music genre that appeals me ... coz techno , house and rnb really don't do it for me , i can still appreciate good hiphop or some nice ragga:reggae tunes , but it would feel pretty empty to me ...
For parties , don't think i would be going out much to music events anymore , would save a lot of money tho
same thing for buying music , it would save a lot of money
for the mind it would be more or less destructive i guess coz my mind is so easy to cure when i feel bad just by playing some nice dnb beatz , don't think if i'm depressed i will ever be cured by a commercial britney plaat or something ....
so this is how i think it would affect me ... how do you think it will be with you ? would almost nothing change ? or is the change very noticeable ?
tell me , i'm curious

I think I'd switch to Electro, Nu Skool Breakz and Progressive I guess... And I'd find an additional sport to compensate for the lack of intense physical movement on the dancefloor

not saying my life would b boring, but I wouldn´t know as much ppl as I do now... (lot I know thanx to breakz)
I would still b playing deep house (or maybe switched over to techno)
I would go to lots off these expensive snobisch house party´s like I used to do
I would listen to lounge and other emo-music and sometimes the harder techno/acid-music

nice to see so many reactions
i also wouldn't know so many peepz as i do right now , also wouldn't be in our party vzwke , organising parties etc
so many things that are coming up in my head that would be different , that it seems that my life has been majorly influenced by the music choice i made four or five years ago

couldn't live without it ... and wouldn't want to either

since the amount of drug-(ab)use the regular junglist seems to go through, most of us will not remember and therefore will happily participate once again in this lovely thread
i would still be spinning big beat, breaks, house ...
and i would write much more music (jazz ...)

My life wouldn't be that different.
In the end, it's just music! Maybe I wouldn't have met some of the peepz I know, but then I would have met others.
I'd still be producin music.
I'd still be buying vinyl.
I'd still be goin to partiez.
I'd still be postin on messageboards

Then I would certainly listen to DnB
Fuck censorschip...
Anyway, I stopped focussing on one single music style. I like DnB very much, but I also like some electro, chill, techno, acid, ... Not really the mainstream stuff I mean, in techno there are for example still nice sub-styles almost no-one knows, psychadelic techno is smth that is just being introduced here, T-Quest this year on ILT was the first time I really heard a well-known DJ playing it. Well, his set was one of the best I heard there, very experimental with sometimes break-beats and acid/psycho influences, I have a lot of respect for that guy, he is on the top, and still keeps experimenting, and just be himself... The rest of ILT sucked pritty much, last time they saw me there - the techno public isn't anymore what it used to be, now they have fights, people that can't stand on their leggs anymore (caused by alcohol and/or pillz), and when you push someone by accident, it happens more and more that they react agressively
Too bad - that's what happens when a certain style becomes popular and main-stream. I only hope that doesn't happen to quickly with DnB.
Anyway, I think if DnB wouldn't exist, it would be a style less I listen to, but then again, something else would have appeared, and I would prolly be listening to that - who will tell

ragga and reggea ,like basslicious said before , would come out of my speakers aswell...
