no... if yo look he puts the cup up to the speaker which is mic'd and it creates an augmentation.. teh tissue creates a hiss...
and it looks liek theyre useing a rhode mic or nuemen or however you spell it which is the original hand made version of the rhode series of mics...
this is just one variation of many things they can be doing however

Yeah it does, for that dirty flappin sound. It looks like the keyboard is going outbound to the pcspeaker, which is going inbound to the mic, which is going out on another speaker. I am tryin that shit out, and I will post up what I do. Is that a special recording mic, or can I just use any shitty thing I have laying around? And are my eyes fucked or is that a plastic tray with thumbstacks in front of the air portal? Also, I wonder if that PC speaker is blown?

no rhodes and neumans are the best mics on teh market period
dude they are fucking con artists!!!!they dont use that,i cant believe you guys would fall for that.there bass sound lies in synth stacking,signal routing and cubase.they where stoned as hell and finally got tired of people asking them,so they made that vid.

Im still gonna try that shit. Im sure I will get some crazy ass sound out of it. I am also tryin circuit bending. So broadenin my horizons, and tryin out new shit, can never hurt. If the video is bullshit, I am sure that people tried it out, and probably used some of the sounds they came up with.

i heard, simillar experimantel technics have been used in other, even comercial productions for a long time now. i guess you can get wicked results by sampling your own stuff

I once watched a video with Dillinja explaining how he makes bass sounds by sampling his own voice making silly noises! Maybe he was joking but who knows, if you want to have a style all your own you've got to think outside the box.
