Please check out my new track 'Cylinder' and post your comments here!!!

I wanted to make a brutal track, but with a swingbeat. I hope it didnt come out to clownsteppish...

To throw in some names, and to show you what to expect: Audio, Spor, SPL (the two step tunes)

hmmm... another heavy one..
very interesting intro u got goin on there... its a tad too long imo. love them two kicks makin that heartbeat sound tho, nice touch
when it drops, i love all the detail you put in tunage wise, creates a good atmosphere for me, but main thing (only my opinion) were the drums.. just not feelin it, was hopin for more of a rollin style, but never mind.. could be just me..
peace bud, nice one

Intro is cool.

I like the break and bass when it gets going. I don't like the snare very much, needs another layer of a flat sounding snare IMO. I do like that metallic snare better that comes in 1:47. Personally I wouldn't mind that bass drum being a little bit louder either.

I think the arrangement is a bit boring and repetetive.

I like the main elements of your track; I like the break, bass, and FX fine. I just feel you need to work on the arrangement a bit to make it a little less boring. This might sound very lame, but take a dnb track you like (doesn't even really sound like yours) and sort of copy the arrangement. Black Sun Empire said to do something like that in their Q & A on DOA a while back, and I find it helpful since I have no music knowledge. That way you can add FX, drops, changes, etc. at appropriate times.

And don't worry, this is not at all clownsteppishBig Grin , reminds me a bit of The Sect if anything, and that is a good thing.

intro is sweet... although before the drop i think you could use some sort of a build up with short silence, just to make that drop really slam in.
im feelin the drums... like the ghost snare... bassline is sik, just needs more pounding low end i feel. i see what u mean by audio spl n that... but i rekon u got ur own style right here... needs more percussion to sound like the sect, but u dont want to sound like someone else.
soundin cool, just needs some power in the lowend i think.

your sound improved mistah frisco , im glad to hear it

tracks is fresh too but it misses some elements like:

more rolling ghosts between the drums

im not to fond of the cylinder sound but thats imo , its not that disturbing and the eqing is good

work on this one it could be a breaktrough in the 2 step genre Tongue , no realy it realy reminded my or the sect just with less sounds.

get a truck full of samples and trow them in , bleeps sweeps heeps or deep sci fi sounds or something

intro goes boring at some point , i suggest u to add more atmos or synths
The bass sounds wicked but its boring to listen to it for too long Big Grin its like the sound when u turn on the chainsaw Big Grin or even a coffee grinder
Don't really know about the snare its sounds wrong for me , it suits the intro , but not the main beat part ...
Speaking about the whole beat thing the idea is good , i like it but im always w8ing , when will the normal double kicked(or something) massive beat come ...
Another thing , after ur intro , drop comes too sudden , like u have no idea how to make it a kewl drop , i suggest u doin' it such a way
take ur intro , add some atmos or syths , then a kewl kickline coming from nowhere , then put ur main beat to it , and then do something crazy with the beat , let it loose , if u know what i mean , then drop it ... and Then put a massive beat with those samples , u can always come back after that to ur beat which ur using right now ...

I guess these are the main things which i would change ...
Oh 1 more thing , add some subs ;D
