After more than two years, once again I had the honor of brewing one of the jungletrain.net monthly promomixes. For me, this is a moment to reflect by looking back in time, seeing that both nothing and everything has changed. Drum and Bass is moving on, though not losing touch with its roots, a thing we should all cherish.
This time, I decided to go Subvert on you while not losing grip with the atmospheric and laid back style everyone knows so well of me. This resulted in a mix I'm particularly proud of. Starting off easy, I bring you you the Good Looking sounds I love so much. Then we go deeper and deeper, past Subvert Central and Exegene until we reach the first climax with a fabulous tune by Cartridge, forthcoming on Counter Intelligence. For a moment we lay back again, Mirage, Latent Notion and Dissident providing us with some air, until madness breaks loose once more with Morphy, Fracture & Neptune, Macc and Intense, finishing off where we started. When the sounds of Ashback hit us, we lose grip on reality, until we doze off into higher atmospheres, into the realms of eternity.
Special props go out to Mr. Cube, providing me with some forthcoming material on Exegene; John Doe for the Counter Intelligence material and Macc, Enicma and the ever lazy Ashback for their great tunes.
