to me that sounds like a detuned saw wave with a load of distortion, and the filter cutoff frequency and resonance has been modified to get that woOow kinda sound
i dont know how long you've been producing electronic music but if ya dont understand anything ive said just let me know n ill try n explain

yeah totally get what you mean, although i don't really know what vst would be best for this. would trilogy or v-station do? should i layer it up? the things ive tried don't seem to come close to that sorta sound :S
You don't need any fancy VSTs for that, even TriangleII (free) can give you a good bass wave to start with, add just add a lot of distortion. You need a cool filter to give the sound that vivid extra like CamelPhat3 (setting BAS WarpDrive) for example. The high part of the bass gets filtered during play by manipulating cut off and resonance with LFO's. This can be done easily with Camelphat, it's a real easy tool, judt fiddle around with it and you'll see.

MY advice is whack two saw waves together at a slight detune to each other, my the sounds of the sample, sounds fairly detuned - say about 20-30 cents off. Distort the hell out of it with disotortion or overdrive. Tweak the res and cut FLOs to whatever speed u want ur wah. Also Eq the midrange where u want ur "wah" to be as well.
