They also recommend LAME and I can recommend it too, it sounds great, is reasonably fast and integrates with software such as Exact Audio Copy. AFAIK it doesn't hurt to use newer versions, just as long as you don't use LAME v3.93 (it is safe to use v3.93.1 though, but it's better not to use any of the fast presets, because they give bad results). The alpha versions of 3.94 are not recommended, only for testing. I will make a tutorial on MP3 encoding soon, because it's all extremely confusing In the meanwhile, to get the best MP3 quality, get these programs: LAME v3.90.3 stable - the best quality MP3 encoder currently available Exact Audio Copy V0.95 prebeta 5 - a very good CD ripper that integrates with LAME RazorLame 1.1.5 - an easy to use front end for LAME (for people that don't like to work with command lines in a DOS window ) __ If you find spam on the site, please hit the button and select my name. Set ur regular audio program settings to use the LAME codec instead of whatever codec they are now using (most probably fraunhofer ISS) __ The mysteries of the distorted snare...
