then it might be the second thing muknki said. that is someone broke the firewall and is now roaming free on your hard drive :X
which ofcourse could be much worse and end up in him deleting the contents
I would just change the firewall. find sunbelt kerio personal firewall. for further instructions crackedcough version get on aim this evening

They might be temporary folders that somehow ended up there
Open them and see their contents. It may be that some info in your FAT (file allocation table) was mixed up and now some totally irrelevant folders appear somewhere.
Dunno, check it up.

.txt files are not executables, so you shouldn't be fearing to open them.

99% sure that these are leftovers from Windows Updates that were installed on your machine and were not deleted for some reason. It's ok to delete them.
If deleting fails you are not the owner of the folder, how you should fix that you can read here.
This might be a good moment though to check your virus scanner/firewall as you seem unsure about your protection.
Get e.g. Avast home edition (which is free) and Zone Alarm Personal Firewall, although I don't want to start a discussion about any viruskiller being bette than Avast or whatever.
Hope this helps.

NOOOOO, if you have the option "hide know extentions..." switched to on even a textfile can be a threath as a file can be named blabla.txt.exe which could be some trojan or a virus.
Make sure you have the mentioned option switched to OFF at all times (in explorer go to Extra/Folder Options/Display and look for it).
