just wondering how you guys (and girls) feel bout mc's. Coz honestly I feel like most MC's should just shut the fuck up, and stop fucking up the (sometimes) nice dnb tracks. Even the most famous MC suck most of the time for instance MC Stamina....goddamn he fucked up to many times...btw I need a new mixer bad, but I dunno what to buy (price range 100-200 euros)

If most people feel this way then why do MC's exsist? Guess it has something to do with the roots of dnbmusic?!

the 'mainstraim' croud loves to hear some vocals

the producers like to here the original so they can listen to the whole of the music without some mofo taking up way too much of the soundspectrum to hear the little details that make the music.

I'm not so sure about that. If you really want to hear the details you shouldn't go to a crowded room with a PA system, and sometimes bad EQ etc., you should go to a quiet studio with some top notch flat monitors.
Another problem is the mixing: the mc's voice should be well audible, but not overpowering the music, wich is quiet often a disaster.

I guess the reason clubs have so many mc's is because good ones are hard to find, and they just keep on looking. A good MC really can add some positive energy to both the music and the crowd, but most of them just fuck up the atmosphere instead.

hahaha

this one has been gooing on for ages.

The things you say convince me that you just aint never heared a good mc performance before. All you narrowminded haters should expand your vission in stead of dishing on something you don t have a clue about. (quote: "why do they even exist"... learn your dnb music history) Roll Eyes

like djfreemc said: if you really want good sound, you need one hell of a PA system on a party or better yet, a studio.

For the mc s on a party, the budget is not always that large, so promotors book a few but leave em out there without the proper material. Only on rare occasions have i given shows where the promotors payed attention too; mc monitor, pa, ... If you have to do it all yourself as an mc, and don t even have the proper hardware, it s damn hard to get a good performance gooing.

the only thing that bugs me is when they dont shut up.

id rather hear someone for ten minutes whos got something to say and then shuts up and just keeps the crown hyped, than a bunch of cunts talking bollocks for an hour or two and just passing the mic to each other to see who can produce the biggest pile of inaudible wank.

im not a hater, and at the end of the day it goes all the way back to jamaican sound systems, but they knew when to shut up and let the music do the talking.
