oh what is this
I was intrigued ny the name but deffinitely no neurofunk here
drums are playing three rooms down. that wobbly synth is way too loud. can't seem to grasp any structure
the pitching sounds that come and go in hawaii style are pretty annoying
this needs a massive overhaul. sorry man not feeling any of it

aaahhhh ....
I thimk that scaranja HAS created NEUROFUNK here... but he missed the instruments....
Neurofunk SOUNDS as JUNGLE but doesn`t uses theese instruments ....
Theese tune is somehow experimental ... exept the bad mixing and tuning the tune has potential in it and it COULD sound nice...
Try to mixdown it well and it will come out something intersting...
P.S. Don`t be "slave" to genres create ur own styles

Jooo Ikon
Neurofunk is a combination between very creative jungle breaks and electro elements.

Scaranja, i think that you should see the way the beats fit together well and don't try to put enything inside before you got the ideal moment for that. anyway the tune is somehow ok but you still need working on layering drums using the propper sounding elements

Please look it up... Wikipedia says...
Neurofunk (commonly abbreviated neuro) is a subgenre of drum and bass pioneered by producers Ed Rush, Optical, Matrix, and MC/producer Ryme Tyme circa 1997/1998 in London, England as a progression of techstep. It was further developed by juxtaposed elements of heavier and darker forms of funk with multiple influences ranging from techno, house and jazz, characterized by consecutive stabs over the bassline and rhythmically structured by razor-sharp backbeats where highly nuanced, dark ambient atmospheric production is prominent. The prototype sound of the early evolution of neurofunk - diverging from its techstep counterpart - at its most creative period which defined the style, can be heard on the essential live mix by Ed Rush & Optical for Radio 1 (199
.
... Full explanation here. There's a lot of very good info in Wikipedia, please read some more about it. It does help to understand DnB in general and producing too.
This track is definately no Neurofunk, it's more like jungle on spacecake
I haven't a lot to add to the other comments though. Work on it, a lot.

Do you mean their descriptions of genres?? Cause I agree with you there. But as for the producing articles, those are really helpful

kinda sounds like this site.
To some extend you are right as some producers who are member of this site like to mention themselves as "important to the European DnB scene" you can expect anything from anyone. But I don't thrust things like Brtanica or that Microsoft piece of sh!t eithet
Well, wile we're at it, it's clear that some people here want to know what Neurofunk is all about... just post a good trustable source for a definition then. Maybe some pages out of Ed Rush's diary...

if someone asks WTF neurofunk is, then it would not be very kind to say "it's all just drum and bass". Would not be very helpfull.
