i use it for my pads as you have 3 oscis and you can adjust the envelopes for each settin of each osci. this gets you great modulated atmospheres. the integrated lfos and effects are cool as well. i love this tool

I love absynth, its great for all sorts of sounds.

I mostly use it for pads though, but you can also get some great synth drums from it too.

The only real problem I have with absynth is that its all too easy to piss around till you have a really cool sound, but that sound is totally unuseable in an actual tune. I think that absynth can be almost too powerful. Its great for sound scape type stuff, but a bit too much for a lot of other purposes.

I guess if your really held back when you use it its cool, i just have problems exercizing any restraint when Im using it.

Hell yeah, absynth is mad, the only beef i have with it is there's no friggin pulse mod (or none to my knowledge), but fuck, you can have lfos on all 64 break points, mental for morphing basslines, plus being able to use it as a sampler is mad if you like to resample, and who wouldn't! multiple outs makes it nice for layering as well.
