i want to make drum loops samples, and for quality, i am not sure how to use logic for this.
if anyone knows how to use logic to just run a few one hits, and run vst's over them, that's all i would need to know. even jutst a halph assed one that i can try to figure out myelf. the thing is so mind boggeling, i have no idea where to fucking start.
also Steinberg.Nuendo.v3.0.2.623-H2O, and Cubase SX 2.2.0 i could also use, but i want to know Logic for school int he next few weeks.
TELL ME WHERE TO START, HOW TO SETUP ONE HITS, AND VST'S!
HELP ME OBI WAN KANOBI YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE!

Hi, Obi Wan here..
In logic, click on an audio track => menu: import audio file.
The selected audio file is now on your audio track, and your playground is right in front of you.
In the Sequence-area:
*If you're working with drumloops, you might wanna know the bpm of the loop before you start. You can now have Logic adapt it's timeline/grid/raster perfectly to your beat.
Let's say this drumloop is 69bpm, click it twice, menu: factory=>time&pitch machine and simply click the original (source) bpm/length/.. values and the desired (destination) values.
You can achieve similar results by clicking your drumloop once, ant the hit 't' on your keyboard, Logic will change the tempo of the song according to this drumloop (mind you, this is not the most effective method, you'll have Logic ask you - very sincerely if you wanna change the tempo to 754bpm...
)
*If you're working with single hits, import them all to one or multiple audiotracks. In the Transport-bar, you'll find a '4/4' measure. click on that second(right)4 and move yer mouse upwards, you'll get smt like '4/64' which gives you much more freedom in moving your single hits around. For absolute freedom (so no snapping/quantizing) you use shift+alt.
In the Mixer-area:
Either you use a couple of vst/FX per track, or you route multiple tracks thru busses.
hope this gets you going
hit me on msn if you wanna know more

basicly i want to put together one hit sounds, and beable to use vst's on them, with high quality.
i was hoping that there's some way to do that in logic.
you know, puts some snares and kicks together, do the mastering with the slew of VST's i have aquired, and mix it out with good quality.
