arpegg sounds cool...could be louder.....how did u record this?? sound a bit quiet and also quite trebly....
the tune itself is pretty good.but you need to work at your overall sound (in my opinion) could be rockin if u beef it up a bit more..what equipment u using???

Unique intro - nice for a change - good hats. At about 1:08 a nice big sub bass would be perfect - bom - boom, boom! But the little jumpy bass that comes in does not do this intro justice. Cool build up with the filtered loop - edgy - great pitch bends right before drop. Ya, cool bass line especially with the interchange with the sub and the grimy mid bass sound like at 6:05 - gotta get that mix under control - beef it up, settle the treble down, maybe change the snare - add some ghosts - nonetheless, nice stuff all around - only the sound quality and perhaps some drum variation holding this one back - otherwise tres coo. I use the Tascam US-122 external USB audio interface (about $300 US) - very stable - comparable sound quality to their top products.

Nice intro, but the hats are overpowering the pads a bit.
Drums kicking in: nice crisp sound, too bad it's all high-end, and there's no punch or bass. Goes for the whole mixdown. This isn't the first time this happens to a tracks of yours. I guess you are using bad speakers or something. Or your using and EQ that massively boosts your bass and cuts your high end, making this sound right to you. Compare your track to other tracks in terms of the volume of the bass and hats and stuff. Use both your ears and spectrum analyzers for that, and you will see that you need way more low end and mid and less high end (without losing the crispness).
Nice track by the way, too bad the sound is so completely fucked up.
I've quickly reEQed a part of your track to give you an indication to what it should sound like. Offcourse it still sounds crap since the mixdown is so off I can't correct it by just EQing the whole thing, but I think you'll clearly hear the difference. Listen here
2.5/5 or maybe even 3/5, hard to make out with this soundquality
1/5 for the mixdown

great effort some excellent synth hooks,i think its them that really give the tune something....nice rolling bassline...just not prominant enough...
it needs to be turned up and given some warmth to it....make it really roll with the synths and cut in and out of each other....the only things that let this tune down is the structure and the sound quallity....im listening on studio active headfones and there are a few volume adjusments on certain sounds that will turn this in to the quality track u can imagine it could be.....really bring the bass up and try and give it a little more mid....maybe run it thru a multiband eq with loads of presets...try and fuk about with the levls as the track is running(i find that a really good way of testin a sample or volume adjusment...do it live as the track is runnin then when ure happy just hit save) the synths are heavy....they roll nice and intelligently along....drum loop is catchy..maybe layer a diffrrent type of snare on top of the one u have..one that is noticably diffrent and then as the track is running adjust the volumes on the two snares until u create a new snare out of the two...this one will sound much more prominant and rounder due to more of the sound field being taken by two snares as aposed to just the one snare...break the drum loop up more as well create difrent little rolls and breaks in unusal places...try to make the drum loop grow and adapt as the tune rolls on...dont just have the same 8 bars rollin thru out....the only other thing i found is the structure is far to long in places.....try and cut the intro down bring in the synths from the drop sooner filter off the hats so there not so tinny then bring them back in with the beat....also at the start alot of the synths were far to quiet and distant...they really need to be up front and more dominant otherwise it will just sound like a very loud hi hat and nothing else...especially if people will be mixin this tune in....i really hope i havnt come across as arrogant and rude in this email...i really am no expert when it comes to producing but ive been listenin to drum n bass for over ten years now and i hope i know a thing or two
..im stil learnin myself with producin...its just if it was my track then i would want complete honesty from someone...anyway i really honestly hope some off the things ive said have helped in any way what so ever...u may already know everything ive said......i have a couple of things ive been workin on if ure interested....any producers opinion is important to me.....myspace.com/contaminatedsamples then go to the new program link on my friend list and there is an old track we fucked about with last summer...
