Intro reminds me of Shy Fx's Bambaataa, all you need is a couple of lion roars lol!
Drums are wicked man you need to give me that Amen break, its so crisp.
Nice width to the track overall.
Bass is good.
Overall production is good too but for me needs to be louder.

cheers.

Yea, guess it does have a Bambaataa feel Wink

There's actually a total of three amens & two other breaks in the tune. There's never more than one amen going at once, but each is layered with 1 or 2 other breaks. The first amen has a bit of EQ to cut almost all of the kick & boosts the highs just a bit. The other two literally have ZERO effects. not even compression.

I know its mixed a bit loud, so there's not a lot of headroom for mastering. Should address that in a few days & be able to squeak out some more volume.

peace & thnx for the review

Intro is good, makes you think "where is this going?" Then.....whaa whaaa amen amen amen chop chop chop. Like the vibe, takes me back to times when tunes gave you what you asked for. Good oldskool sounds used here. Is this an old tune you have beefed up? NICE! Hud

thx Hud!!! The original is something I pumped out about a year ago. This is just kind of a re-visit w/ some different breaks & slight variation of the bass. Revamped the intro & bridge too.

The original is here if you're interested: http://soundcloud.com/dannylo/jungle-assassin

Straight in with that intro sample, its epic and im liking the panning on the jungle noises
, it has a bit of a progression to it, but it could maybe do with a tad more considering its a 64 bar intro

the section before the drop is cool likeing the modulation on the bass

the drums kick in hard and powerful, the break is clean and exciting, the sub bass is powerful and not muddy, but personally i would have a higher gain on the bassline, theres no difference between the level of it before and after the drop, if you gave it a few more decibels, it would give the mix a lot more power without compromising the other elements

the break comes in pretty smoothly, same as intro - standard

could do with a bit more variation in the drums or bass after the 2nd drop.

overall its got good ideas and is well produced and well, it sound ssick, juse the modulated bassline doesnt sound powerful enough to me.

Nice vibes in the intro. Break is very nice. And the drums are top, especially in the first part (1.17 - 2.00). Maybe bring in another bass sound to add some more variaton. Can't really think of anything else to change, thats a good thing I guess Big Grin . Good track Smile .

nice vibes in this one, really like the drums, sounds a little too "minimal" for my taste, athmosphere is deep, percussions sound good, nice tune Wink

Hey dLO. Biggup the US massive! Like the intro - lots of suspense. Reminded me a bit of predator. Would bring the bass out a bit more as currently the amen break is really overpowering. Like the vocal samples. Good work man.

Nice amazon style fx mate.

Bit dissapointed by the drop. The amen isn't powerfull enough. Bass is week as well.

Ok, Your intro and bridge are fantastic. The rest isn't over original and needs working on. Second half is better though. I thought it would go into a Limewax/Donny/Tech Itch style thing to be honest.

It's not bad though, but without the Amazon thing, it wouldn't be any thing special. I don't mean that to sound to harsh, It is a good track, just think it needs some work doing =]

I'm leaning more towards agreeing with Pace that the amen might be a little too much. In fact, bringing that down in the mix might give me more room overall. As for it going into a limewax thing... no! Tongue

Hello mate. I saw your post before you edited it. It is a cool track, but I want to say that the impact would have been better if the drop etc was a bit louder. To me, it sounds like it is compressed and has lost some energy (just given it another listen) after the intro. The intro has a far wider range of frequencies, which is making the main thing lose power. I'm using Sennheiser hd205, which arn't to bad. As I say mate, it is a cool song though Smile

thnx man, this defo makes some sense. There is actually NO compression on the tune at all. I went back & had a peek at the spectrum analyzer & at the overall output & its pretty consistent between the intros and post-drop stuff. In fact, there's a pretty clear boost in overall volume after the drops. It could be the bounce to .be??? I've had tunes get weirdly squashed when uploading here for some reason. who knows. at any rate, it's a simple refix of an old tune... But thnx for the review & the follow-up review! cheers.

btw. I edited the first reply b/c after i went back & read it i realized i sounded like a dick, which wasn't my intention at all. One of my biggest peeves are folks that come off pretentious or with big egos. My apologies

Really nice intro and buildup. Loving the drums. Not really feeling the melodies too much, but the drums are banging and carries the track with ease. Stabs at 2:25 are cool. 2:46 nice return to the tribal vibe. Good one!

The intro is makes it feel like I'm walking around in some tribal rainforest or safari or something ahaha.

I'm absolutely loving this tune. The bass is massive. All sound frequencies are covered well. It's really smooth. I'm loving the depth/layering, I can hear so many different things if I take the time to listen. That amen samples is almost perfect.

I'd like to hear some glitching with the break a bit to change things up, you have such a good sample to work with. Cheers!
