Hey everyone, im fairly new o these forums, but to get straight to the point, im using reason 4 and im trying to get a reese bass to sound similar to this
I know for sure its got an LFO on it but i cant quite get that sound it has (youll know what i mean if you listen). Im using Thor btw
sine wave sub bass (most likely... although I think that netsky might sometimes use two detuned saws with very low freq LPF. The sub-bass is rhythmically different to the reese bass.
Anyway, the reese sound is two detuned saws with poloyphony at 3 or 4 (all detuned) and high pass filter to about 500Hz (-6dB), with a syncopated envelope.
Cheers
P.S. and a bunch of distortion. to get nice distortion like that, I use D16 Devastor.
In Thor, add two instances of MultiOscilator (I can't remember exactly, but I think it is the solution), You will find exactly what oscilator to use in each. Detune them slightly. That sound can also be made with the TS404 machine in Fruityloops with the distortion in combination.

If you want people to chill it would be good not to swear...
On topic: There's only one way to figure this out: try!
Would one get as skilled as Netsky by asking for the magic settings on a forum?
If you know how to make a reese then you are pretty damn close to just about any bass out there actually. The rest is done by picking different waveforms, using different detuning and using different processing chains.

i think if u want that netsky sound u should try plugin your midi player into your lawnmower and putting it on the rabbit setting the tortoise setting is more of a jump up / tech sound hope this helps
