Hey guys im new here and pretty new to FL studios as well.

Im using 9 (xxl? or something like that).

I have 8 measure phrases.

2 melody patterns.

1 hook pattern (melody-like)

1 drum pattern.

1 melody fill throughout the 8th measure

And it sounds alright, but when I add a low-pitch bass all the other patterns including the bass become less prominent.

Its as if theres only 100% sound output, and currently my 5 patterns each take 20%, but when I add the bass it becomes 6 so now all the patterns run at 17

Check whether you have a limiter on your Master mixer track (which is on by default). And turn everything down a bit.

Your bass is probably too loud, lower the level and make sure you don't have clashing frequencies in the bass area.
