aigth, instruments is thougher. This one is a nice synth to start with, and free ofcourse: freealpha Predecessor of the 'almighty' albino synths, although limited (2x osc), but still nice sounding. It has all the basic functions.
This one i used in the 'gunshot' tune (attempt
). Just proving there is some nice FREE stuf around, which you can actually use trying to make something, without paying shitloads of money to synths of which you only know what 1/3 of the buttons do (could be me too ofcourse
): refx claw Very easy to use (only 1 osc), but some cool presets to tweak.
and since this last (forgot the direct link) one brougth you to K-v-R site, search this site for other free stuff, there's lot's of stuff on their, some free, some not
if someone else knows more, keep em coming, could be usefull to all

latest discovery: master maximizer TBTaudio
real nice for mastering tracks, similar to compression I think, but different controls. and... i always have trouble with compression of the master. well, i didn't have that with this one

Read better: The Superwave P8 is free. The others (Performer, Trance Pro...) are not.

There are a lot of free VSTi's out there, both shareware and try before you buy. KVR is a great place to start, as well, using any "P2P file sharing software (Kazza, limewire, ect.) you will be able to find lot of try before you buy software. Use a search engine such as google to search for "free Vsti" or "free synth", etc. There are a million sites out there.
Shareware programs are fine, although any software that is licensed, should be purchased if you are going to make money from using the software.
Remember that there is a lot of time put into making the software that we love to play with, therefore once funds are avialible support the manufacturer, this will allow for futher research and improments in future software that we will all benifit from.
