Does anyone know of (or if this is even possible) a free vst effects plugin that would allow me to bend the pitch of an audio sample?

The scenario Im thinking of using it in is on piano chords before the drop when everything cuts out for a while to produce a dive-bomb effect similar to pushing down the whammy bar on a guitar.

load the sample up into a sampler and use the pitch bend on that
