i have recently lost the abilty to listen to music or sound in general for that matter on ie an mozilla fire fox. this is a huge issue as it means i cant be reviewing any 1z tracks. i really have no idea what is causing it but if you are gonna say anything about flash player or the sound settings id save ya fingaz cus ive already tried it ? any other help any1 can provide would be a huge help. im hopin sum1 in ere has some idea on what too to well in fact im beggin lmao.

sorry yeas on windows xp with sp2 installed not sure wich ie it it but its fire fox 3 and im running an emu 0404 soundcard pci

myne works with the music apps i just havent got a clue oh i can listen to music in vlc and windows media player cheers anyway lads hit up ma tune and gimme a slatin bout that to make me feel a bit better l8ers

You may have installed another soundcard which is now considered as a default one, and you obviously can't hear the sound as you're not connected to it.
Is this the case?

no i tried the shit soundcard on my mother board
i even went into the settings so i could change the outputs on that and see whether it was just a faulty out put
no joy
i really do think its either me registry. i reckon if i could find th reg key in the system for ie or firefox i could probably point it at my soundcard
i thinkcheers alll the same anyway will let you know if it works

Yeah, just do a repair of system files... nothing will be deleted, just the system files will be revamped 
You can do that by booting your computer with its' installation CD.

already done and still no joy mate i aint got the windows cd and i cant even burn of another 1 cus this disk drive is fucked lol. i think the phrase is up shit creek without a paddle.
il just get a new comp becausei think the fan has gone on this 1 anyways cheers for ya help tho its appreciated .

its allright mate i sorted it now just reinstalled windows cheers for aall the help anyways lads i think it was something to do with 1 of the settings on the soundcard options within cubase, it turns off system sounds and there is no way of gettin em back wich i find strange lol never mind though wont be using that option again
