Thread: My biggest tune so far (reviews please) |

The hi-end instruments should be louder and the midbass should be more in the back of the mix because it is not the instrument that "makes" the track.
An intro that is somewhat different from the main tune and that creates a desire to hear a drop (building tension) would be a good idea too.

The forum is the only thing left of Drumnbass.be, the tunes section has been removed due to several reasons (taking space, costing money, old server, ...).
Sorry mate.
Make some new tunes

Add a download link to a webshop on Soundcloud.
Also mention "Now availaible on Direct Recordings" instead of "Now Available".
Don't make it difficult for people to give you money
Nice to see you get there...

You do have a lot of talent, your tunes get few likes though... trying to figure out why....
Here's my 2 cents:
your tunes often are "over the top" when it comes down to FX and pompousness (can I even write that?).
Some good examples of this is your track "what" and "Face".
The mid bass stuff sounds like a racing car, the snare is too much in the back and it lacks punch, the structure could aim more on the dancefloor (simple and predictive) and I miss a nice subbass at some points.
Don't kill me... just trying to help you.

Nope, a soundfont is someone playing all possible notes on let's say a piano and putting all those sounds into one file which you can open with a sound font player. That way you never get silly short or long notes if you play some higher or lower notes.
You may be looking for a generic midi soundbank though.
Try Luxonix Ravity VST, it probably has these sounds.

You did a good job on mixing kicks and snares, they sound nice. Not too smashy which is good for this tune.
Tune could use a bit more variation and a stronger drop (or a lighter intro) intro and drop are too much alike.
Nice tune though!

It all sounds like a midi soundbank, maybe you should look for some of those or for some samplepacks in that direction.

Quiet, muddy.
the hihats are too loud compared to the rest of the drums.
Everything seems to be melted together.
Your mixdown needs a lot of work.

Nice mixdown, like the basses.
There's some weeping sound in the background every now and then which doesn't belong their for my taste.
I would love the bassline to have a more clear structure. It all seems to be a bit "floating around" right now.
