djchavez21 so you mean resampling?
Do you happen to know a good vst to resample ? I have Kontakt but I haven't used it very much.

Just curious Smile

Surking - Lose Yourself (DnB Remix) 25-08-2012 01:59 Forum: Tunes

Long time since I've been here,

I just finished a "remix" of Surkin's "lose yourself' for those who know.

The track is entirely produced by me, I just used the vocals bcause I thought they fit good Smile

Anyway have a listen and tell me what you guys think.

Track:

cheers !

Bass bending 20-05-2012 22:33 Forum: Production questions & answers

Alright, I know you have to be a pro to know this,

But does anyone has the slightest idea to make a bass bend like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwVYUixZAHw

you can hear it around 2:12

I think it's a matter of slightly pitch bending or using different notes..

I know they use filters to make those reese sounds wobble but I just cant figure how to bend my sub like that (I use massive & ableton)

Any ideas?

I've use ableton since I began producing (didn't even use fruityloops) and Massive and I love both of them.
Like altodnb said it takes ages to learn a new daw..

Pretty sick, great job on the bass melody. Drumstep is not my cup of tea but it's a quality production. I agree with subkinetik for the snare. It doesn't sound powerful enough. Good track!

Thanks, Walcor yeah it's probably your headphones.
I noticed it too when I listened through my speakers (normal ones, not laptop).
Anyway thanks for the reviews, I'm definitely planning on finishing this one!

Sounds good, I love that old skool bass around 0:40. How did you make that?
Those pianos are a bit too loud in the mix, plus I would make a harmonic melody with it that fits with the bass instead of using the same one.
And the vocals are also kinda messy.

If I were you I would go oldskool on this track, remove some of the vocals, let the bass be the central part of your track en add some variation in the drums.
Good effort! It's not bad Smile

Try putting those 3osc into a lowpass and then just twitch around. Adding just a bit of dimension expanser also gives your sub a wider feeling.

Thanks Subkinetik, really helpfull !
As for the sub, my main bass synth has a very low frequency so I didn't quite put a sub seperately because I thought I would be to crowdy and mess things up.
Plus I don't have a great audio set up (my headphone's bass is raised)
Maybe with some proper EQ'ing I could do it.
The rest of your suggestions are totally right, I'll get to work!
Thanks man

That's some decent mastering dude! Loved the part around 2min30. You're vocals aren't even bad. I would just pitch them down a tad, see how that sounds Wink . Some fat bass samples in there too, nice work !

You did this in an hour? nice work dude. The bas is very smooth. I would lower your drums a bit and add some nice melodic elements. I'm curious to hear what comes out of it !
