this intro really is great, nice ethnic vibes. then in comes the filtered reece, really nice, but for me id love to hear it really drop, too much chop and lfo going on, i think you need to get to the point and smash people up when the drop happens.

track was made to be pretty short, wasnt going for the typical dubstep structure. May not be all that original, but I have not heard another dubstep track with an Australian MC on it. But then again, I dont listen to Dubstep, so I would not really know what original was as such.

Thanks for your feedback mate Wink

Please check out my new track 'The Real Dumb (hyphae Remix)' and post your comments here!

Firstly, thanks to those that gave some great critisim on the last track I posted up, I found it to be quite helpful!

Here is a remix I have done of a friends Duo, they are called Jacqui Onasis and are based out of Sydney Australia. This was originally a Hip Hop track, so I took the vocal, completely changed the structure, and composed a dubstep track around it. I m very happy with the outcome, but always keen for some feedback from fresh ears.

Done on my usual setup of Reaper, NI plugins, and my Virus B

Cheers.

Great track. Love it. Nothing but praise for this, so bass heavy, lots of weight and warmth. Big up.

Great intro, very theatrical indeed. I think the snare in the drop may need just a very slight layer, the mids are spot on, but lacks a very subtle layer. The growls on the reece are spot on, and move along nicely, sub sits pretty well. Overall, very enjoyable mate.

i really like this once it gets going with the sub bass around 1min30, rolls nicely. The growls get a little tiring, lovely little stabs here and there, mix is pretty tight. Id love to hear a second drop with a change up.

i actually quite like this mate, creates images in my head, nice dark sweaty room, very late at night, this is actually quite "hard core", one for the crack heads Wink

love how you have used unconventional sounds, especially the kick and snare, and have purposefully strayed from mainstream ideas. The minimal changes in the synth work keep it moving along nicely, nice to hear something refreshing, at least to my ears.

synths that come in at 1min or so could maybe fade in a bit? they seem to come in a little too loud at first, defo a laid back summer vibe, nice and smooth when it drops, bass at around 2 min 40 seems a little low in volume, all round smooth tune with a sweet vocal.

dope intro, love that kik and snare sounds so sharp and weighty at the same time. Drop is gooood, get some vox chops in there mate, sounding great so far.

kik and snare are really nice, i can sense what your trying to achieve with the orchestral stuff, which would sound great played by an orchestra, but sounds way to stiff as its coming out of a sampler. drop hits well, piano in the breakdown is good. I actually think the master sounds ok to me, i dont think your compression is "fucked up" Wink

Only aspects I dont like are the orchestral hits.

yeh nice, everything fits well, loop used in the intro gets a little repetitive for a 6 minute track, id love to see some type of change up to keep it moving. Dont get me wrong, it all sounds nice and smooth, but id love to hear it turn the corner and change up to show compositional variety.

cheers for the feedback mate, I hear you on the mastering side of things, mastering has always been a weakness of mine, probably will go back and tweak the bass on my multiband compressor a bit, its still a bit of a work in progress.

hardcore track mate
the main snare seems a little loud
fills are good
reminds me of "bloody fist" label stuff a little.

It seems that the lower sub notes may need a little more volume, they sound great, but need a little more presence. Lovely vox sample that suits the track well, drums are crisp and have the required amount of punch for a smooth dnb track such as this. Nice smooth little trip for sure here overall.

Yeh bro, love how you did some really differing shit to mix it right up. Anyone on this site surely can tell by your production and synth work, that if you chose to you would get those 5 stars if you chose to go down the standard road. Lovely technique, banging production, and you get my vote for mixing it right up and doing something original mate.

Top marks from me dude.

Respect.

Intro has the right balance of fx and atmosphere, builds nicely. Drop has that minimal style, with a little filth, which i dig. Personally id love to hear a mid range layer on that snare, but fuck, im being a little picky there. Great dirty little minimal roller, perfect for a 3am blow out.

Big up.
