see what the artist has to say about the tunes in his own words:

substixentialism:
I wanted to show that Techno influenced DnB was not just about bleeps and kick drums, and more about hypnotizing grooves that you can lose yourself in. I like using alot of percussion in my tracks and wanted to build the track on just pure rhythm. I personally feel the other elements are just a catalyst for the main groove that subtly variates through the track by pushing the bass and working the drums.

storm break:
This is one of my personal favorites of tunes I have written, the main synth line constantly evolves as does the elements around it. The main beat keeps solid throughout and keeps the pressure on the synths to focus the energy. I'm really happy with the main breakdown, the result on the dancefloor has been immense and when that final drop comes people have been going crazy!

Overall I couldnt be more happy with my first release for PC, I feel the tunes compliment each other and show another side to my sound that I will be looking to evolve in the future...

OffKey Mk2

Since 2005, Offkey Music have led the way in defining, what was then, a new sub genre of Drum & Bass. Their trademark sound drew upon the musical history and philosophy of label head honcho Raiden, in that a number of key elements from the sounds of Detroit and minimal techno were to be fused with the traditional core elements of breaks and bass. A journey of creative exploration and development followed and with the assistance of talented ‘like minded’ souls such as Khanage, The Sect, Propaganda, Audio & Proket, Offkey Music firmly cemented itself a position as innovators of note within the scene.
Over the coming 6 months we will announce a new roster of talented artists.

Thirteen EPs and one critically acclaimed album later, the time had come for Raiden to take a step back from the music and review what his label had achieved, but even more importantly, what it may achieve in the future. The Techno / Drum & Bass hybrid developed some years before had acted as a calling card to many other producers, each with their own take on how this sound should develop. Whilst recognising the creative abilities of those trying to further the sub genre, the sound for which Offkey had become synonymous was no longer the sound of its creator.

The time had come to reinvent the content…

And so, ‘OK014’ is a landmark release. Its tracks symbolise the new direction in which Raiden and his Offkey Music artists will hone their skills. Once again the sounds are innovative, fresh and exciting… Everything you would want, only with the twist few expected. Forget any preconceptions; THIS is the sound of Offkey! THIS is the sound of Raiden!

Track ‘A’ – Hubble: Getting heavy rotation on the club circuit, many will have gone mad to it, few realise who is responsible for it. If ever a track epitomised the raw elements of cutting edge Drum & Bass music, this is it. A proper nasty piece of beat work filled with twisted self-oscillating bass sorcery that is simply laying dance floors to wreckage. This track has gained massive support from the likes of Andy C, Ed Rush, DieselBoy and of course the OK recordings crew…

Track ‘AA’ – M82: Fresh out of the studio and totally uncompromising, Raiden delivers this new take on the old ‘B Boy’ roller. Spaced out ethereal pads swirl around a crisp multi layered tribal drum workout. The whole thing relentlessly builds toward an all out bass heavy assault on the senses. Factor in some delicious edits with slicker than slick production throughout and it’s a ‘must have’ for any discerning Drum & Bass lover. Main line support on this one coming from the mighty Doc Scott, Alix Perez, Spirit and all @ Offkey

All new, smashin’ up a club near you!

PC74 Lethal - Substixentialism / Stormbreak 13-06-2009 01:41 Forum: Drum-n-bass massive

PC74 is out now on vinyl at the regular shops and digital temporarely exclusively through beatport (www.beatport.com). Get this release.

Two deep bass loaded tracks by Lethal.

Substixentialism: Fat bass and hypnotic claps. Combine this with a horror-like violin-stab and you get the Panacea screaming every time the stab hits the dance floor.

Stormbreak: Lethal hitting you again with the heavy bassline and bringing you a deep detroit techno vibe taking you back to the early 90's.

It is possible. Several DnB tracks run at a different bpm from the almost standard 175bpm.

One thing you can do is look for those tracks and slightly turn the pitch down in your set. You might be able to do that in about 3 tracks I think.

What you do have to realize is that some things are not possible like others. Make some adjustments to your set.

Zou hier dan een mail van kunnen gepost worden. Kwestie dat een gerucht een gerucht is en gij als anoniem staat...

DnB is popular? The commercial shit is idd, but the underground stuff is still about the real. I just don't go to the crappy ones, just wait for the good line-ups and I've always got therapy!!!

This line-up looks nice, only problem will be getting there, train strike that night.

After hearing yet another Cooh track it's clear that this might be the best performance of the year.

And he told me he'll be playing the collab with vengeanze at Ghent. It'll be a banger for sure!!!!!!

Taken from his myspace. http://www.myspace.com/coohbg

For those who don't know Cooh. He's one of the latest discovered producers from Bulgaria. Signed to Position Chrome, Offkey, Obsessions, TOV and G2. He's got a really hard new sound that's definitely worth checking out!!!

On the 9th of November he'll be playing in Ghent @ the frontline. Anybody know something more about the party?

I'm not feeling the splitting of Belgium. What will be next? Splitting the provinces more clearly. It's hard to work together and easy to separate. But right now there are just some suggestions from Walloons politicians that are completely ridiculous(towns with more than 10% French speaking citizens around Brussels need to be added to Brussels).

This situation seems to have been created because of personal battles. I've got really good friends in Wallonie. They don't trust the politics either.
