On Thursday 27.11 Democrazy & Mystic crew prsnts:
MYSTIC
London Elektricity ''Syncopated city'' album release tour

LONDON ELEKTRICITY (HOSPITAL - UK)

London Elektricity has become a byword for groundbreaking 'fast soul music', ramming venues, destroying drum & bass crowds...
The past couple of years have seen Tony become the people's choice for their dnb news and upfront music as host of the multi award winning Hospital Podcast. Raking up outrageous bandwidth bills following millions of downloads the Hospital Podcast has a massive cult following, with its happily controversial host intrinsic to its success.

2008 and Tony is back to what he does best, making fantastic music. In September 2008 Syncopated City was released, the 4th studio album and another masterpiece from the man like L.E.

current london elektricity top 10:

01. London Elektricity ''Bare Religion'' (Hospital)
02. Mistabishi ''Printer Jam'' (Hospital)
03. Randomer ''Blind'' (Medschool)
04. Commix ''Bear Music'' (Hospital)
05. N.E.R.D ''Nerdstep'' (London Elektricity Dub)
06. Martsman ''Trueschool Drumkit Wonder'' (Medschool)
07. Break ''Destiny Comes Ringing'' (Commercial Suicide)
08. Commix, Nu:Tone & Logistics ''Coffee'' (Hospital)
09. Steppatech ''Darkestra'' (Dub)
10. Nu:Tone ''Balaclava'' (Hospital)

SPIRIT (InnerActive - Metalheadz - UK)

As part of the legendary phantom audio (with digital) and main man behind the infamous InnerActive label SPIRIT will set the mystic dance floor on fire!
Dubbed out future beats with a ravy edge.
Spirit will deliver the badness for those who can handle it ...

SP:MC (Shogun - Tempa - UK)

Making the breakthrough into the world of the D&B MC is no small task, yet 28 year-old SP:MC has managed to establish himself as one of the busiest & most innovative on the circuit in the last 5 years. He proudly represents Shogun Audio [after establishing himself as DJ Frictions MC of choice], & Emcee Recordings [MC GQ made him resident at his own Emcee Monthly Sessions in London after hearing one of SP's early mixtapes]. He has also represented for labels as diverse as Hospital, Renegade Hardware, Commercial Suicide, Prototype, Bassbin, Good Looking, Metalheadz, Quarantine, Digital Soundboy, Soul:R, Exit Innerground, DNAudio & Valve.

DOBE'N'DAZE (Mystic-Critical-Fokuz-Future Thinkin - BE)

Residents and Founders of Mystic. Runnin' things in the Gent area for over a decade now... With releases on Critical, Fokuz, Future thinkin,... and gaining international support very fast... watchit.

ETNIK & FUZZ (Excess - BE)

How it all began...
The real thing started when Etnik organised Excess, which was a complete succes. After that he got into more and more parties, making that year a living dream. After that year he stayed with his feet on the ground and started promoting drum n bass in every way possible.. He got an internet radioshow on a UK radiostation. The second edition of Excess was also a succes. In the same year he met The Nitrous and together with him, he organised the Mad n Bad party. Also with The Nitrous he got a radio show at Scorpio, inviting guest dj's on a weekly basis. And last but not least he got the chance to organise the monthly Bassline events in cooperation with the Machine club in Leuven. Lately Etnik decided to play together with Fuzz, cause these two dj's are complementary both in style and technique.

What to expect today...
The main element in Etnik & Fuzz's sets is a warm deep bass. They try to keep their sets danceable but in the mean time renovating, blending harder tunes with the minimal sound. They're totally caught by the sounds of the nu skool leaders in dnb: Spectrasoul, Lenzman, Icicle, Commix to name a few of their main influences.

-studio upgrade: getting a new production pc and maybe a hardware synth or compressor
-make more tunes
-release more tunes (see make more tunes)
-find a better balance in my life between social life and studio-time (last year social life was zero, overdone it a bit in my focus on production...sowwy mates)
-find a vocalist for W& D stuff.

the only downside is that it requires a dedicated firewire bus, so if you have only one firewire bus (like i do on my otherwise monstrous laptop Smile ) you're completely unable to hook anything else up to your firewire slots. like f.e. if you have a firewire soundcard you have to unhook it and mix on another soundcard
which is pretty shitty if you only have that one Smile

otherwise on tower-based homepc's it's an easy job to go get an extra firewire pci card (every 1394 card you insert on a different pci slut gives you a seperate 1394 bus) and they're not too expensive (about 50 euro for a decent texas instruments card)

+ if you're working at 44.1 samplerate (which you're mostly doing if you're not making music for video, or any other type of digital hyperquality samplerate)
you get up to 32 channels of dedicated processing.

so yeah, if you're intrested in elevating your compressing and eq'ing power seriously, it's a damn fine investment!

cheers man, many thanks for yr views on this...
seriously considering to make this my next studio-upgrade.

I guess you should have a hands-on session with it in a major music shop.

yeah ok it's not cheap but compare it to what a pro hardware compressor will set you back its a pretty decent price...and u get severall models here plus eq's.
The most appealing factor for me is the integration within yr sequencer like a pluggin (wich would seriously give my system more resources for processing other things i think)

been meaning to go test it out for a while now but i'd like to hear some user-opinions first.

any views on this would be helpful Smile
