Smile Thanks a lot for the suggestions and feedback guys.

Working on the EQing of the drums now, will try to do the best I can to give it what all you guys are saying it needs.

Will drop the synth that hits every 8 bars. It was definitely to loud, and will probably be giving the bass a small revamp and doing what I can with that.

Glad to hear you guys liked the main idea though, thats good to know. Big Grin

Thanks again for the feedback guys.

Thanks a lot to you all, its much appreciated. I will definitely read up more on EQ's and see what I can do about it. Also on melody I presume.

This was my first track in Reason in a long time, and first in 3.0. So I'll see if I can't fix some things up and do what you guys suggested. Again, much thanks.

Remix of a friends tune. Don't have a link to the original though. Decent enough, though I expect a lot of helpful criticism if there are any reviews. I feel like you guys here could donate a lot of helpful advice.

If I am understanding what you are saying right, (which I hope I am), then can you not just load up another Kontakt 2? Seems like you just need more ouputs with Kontakt which you can achieve if you are full, by just loading up another one. In SX it will load it, and just call it Kontakt 2 #2.

All good advice, but have you ever thought of possibly just asking a fellow producer to exchange ideas? Possibly do a collab with them, if you find one of their ideas interesting or vise versa. It definitely never would hurt, and at the same time you might find yourself coming up with an idea off of their idea.

This is just an excellent song all around. It's so nice and melodic and just plain lovely. The drums roll along nicely, keep the groove quite well, while they compliment the bass. I personally love everything about this one, great work here Bigup

Could I possibly get a copy of this song by any chance if you wouldn't mind and it's not to much trouble?

Any idea when this might be done? I'm sure not for a few months or so at least, but any estimate would be appreciated.

I was wondering the same. IDK who would want to work with me, but im not picky with the software. I know how to use them all.

This is just a rough draft of something I put together. Been about an hour or so on it so far, and I was wondering what someone thought of it. Does it have any potential to become something? Opinions welcome, good and bad.

nice, long as your having fun ya know? Hows the little one?

Been doing some stuff lately, reworking one of my tunes that I finished just a month or so ago. Making it sound better, while working on some other crap as well. I was just talking about how you disappear for awhile then show up for a bit in that endless cycle with a friend a few days ago. Then here you pop up. Always wondered if you would stay around long enough to even work on something together with. haha

Sounds great on originality for sure. Lots of cool edits in here, and I am liking how this has started off. Bass after the drop is a bit dirty and needs to be cleaned a bit, but seeing as how this is a rough preview I can't say much on that kind of stuff. Good stuff man.

How you been?

Thanks a lot man, I fixed it before I got the post though. Still appreciated.

I deleted the drivers for the card, and even went into reg edit, and it still wouldn't work. Then I did a reinstall and it still searched for them. So eventually I had to do a reinstall with the ASIO before I ran SX to fix it.

ok seeing as how there is no "articles" place now, I guess I'm supposed to post an idea in here or something?

Mines basically, All Around starting production. The best way to describe it is just to read the table of contents I made. And if i can't use this for the competition, I will just write it anyways since I already started and just post it up here somewhere. Pleased

Table of Contents:

1) Simple DO's and DON'T's. ( I.E. Such as volume level so as to prevent hearing loss (Volume dB table) and monitor placement, etc.)

2) Simple refrences, abberivations and the such. (I.E. what ASDR is and does, and what certain things and knobs do)

3) Hardware setups. (Very general, mostly monitor choices, sound card choices, and midi controllers.)

4) A nice and defined EQ layout, with many different specificatiosn of frequency ranges, and what to do on certain types of instruments, synths, and drum beats and breaks.

5) A simple and easy to use compression guide that will allow you to use compression in the right way, without killing the sound of the channel or channels it is applied to.

6) Image-Line Fruity Loops Manual/Walkthrough (I am using FL Studio XXL Producers Edition 6.0.Cool

7) Common Fruity Loop Errors/Problems

Cool Sony Acid Pro Manual/Walkthrough ( I am using Acid Pro 6.0)

9) Common Acid Pro Errors/Problems

10) Propellerheads Reason 3 Manual/Walkthrough ( I am using Reason 3.0.4)

11) Common Reason 3 Errors/Problems

12) Steinberg Cubase SX/Nuendo (I am using SX & Nuendo 3)

13) Common Cubase SX 3 Errors/Problems

14) Sony Sound Forge ( I am using Sound Forge 8.0)

15) Common Sound Forge Errors/Problems

16) Steinberg Wavelab (I am using Wavelab 5.0)

17) Common Wavelab Errors/Problems

1Cool Digidesign Pro Tools (I am using Pro Tools 6.7LE M-Powered) (Also very general guide, the basics.)

19) List of personal suggested plugins and effects.

20) LAME MP3 Encoder ( How to use LAME - Razor LAME)

21) Winamp (Common winamp issues, plugins, skins, and perosonal suggetions)

So yea, that's it.

Cubase Launch Error 15-12-2006 00:19 Forum: Cubase

ok, so I just switched sound cards, from my M-Audio Audiophile to Emu 1212m. Thing about it is, when I start cubase it still looks to initialize the M-Audio ASIO and errors out and i have to close the program before it even opens. I have went into regedit and deleted the shit there, any more ideas, or would a fresh SX re-install fix this?

Thanks for the advice man. I'm still getting used to these monitors (M-Audio BX5a). Sounded like it was good on this end, but now I know that I have to beef it up a bit more than I expected. Good finding that out.

Any advice on the synth leads or bass at all? I tried my best to program them all myself, so any headroom on that would be well appreciated.

I forgot to mention to cut off the EQ on the drums when you do it. For example, when you boost it around 90 or so, take a high pass cut on it at about 80Hz, then again at about 70, this makes sure that most of the sound is cut off, because if you only do it once, some sound carries over past the 80Hz line that can create a clashing of sounds.

I meant mashed together in it sounds a little dirty and needs some more EQing thats all.

As for the 3:12 Amen, you might want to boost the kick around 90-125, then cut out the low of it, then at around 250 and 500Hz boost it at about 1-1.5dB depending on what sounds right. From there, your gonna want to give it a bit more high end. Thats mearly done on what sounds right to the ear, but a high self EQ at like 8000Hz with 2dB of EQ would probably be nice, some more mid range EQs in there as well obviously, but thats about it.

If your bass frequencies are invading your beat, you are gonna want to EQ it and cut it off, or turn it down so as to make sure its not interfering anymore and blends. All I can think of at the moment, If i remember anything ill post it up.
