producing is not just choosing presets in a plugin, and sequencing some samples...

producing is a long process, without a manual...

i recommend you to learn what sound is first,
then get the basics of synthesis,
after that you could have a look at how processing sound is done

I assume you know how to use a simple DAW, otherwise, rtfm

edit: processing and synthesis isn't a required step, but i recommend you to learn it anyway... it'll be (very) usefull.

Hit the nail right on the head. Some very very useful advice here.
Another good place to start is to find some reese samples or even a gabber bass drum/hard trance bass drum and elongate it. Those can get you very cool sounds when you layer and add effects, so Just keep playing around, but don't think it's going to come fast or easy. I haven't found a formula that works for me and i've been making DnB in FL for almost a year now.

technetiumzk - Microscopic 26-08-2008 05:21 Forum: Tunes

Please check out my new track 'Microscopic' and post your comments here!

A little roller i put together. my first real dnb piece for a month and a half, a bit experimental. The letters spell out D-J-N-O-S-E-B-L-E-E-D as in Nosebleed, my alias. I thought it helped the track roll so i kept it in. Cheers .be!

Amazing! Great Vibes i get here, while managing not to be cheesy at all. Atmospherics are spot-on and snare is nice and punchy! Just how i like it. Needs a Bit more variation but i don't expect you to be the best ever in this style since its unusual for you. Overall great man.

I also want to make the switch mate, ipod sucks hairy ass X]
IO suggest the Creative Zen, great, has fm radio, recording support, and video, as well as being much cheaper. I had one before i switched to ipod to look cool, but now i realize it was a bad idea. The one problem i have with making the switch is that i have all my bought tunes in M4pm which means its an Mp4 file protected by password. There are many mp4>mp3 convertors outt there, but none that support M4p>Mp3. I have protected music convertor but it doesnt work o my comp. if anyone can help than i would appreciate it.
cheers m8

Ok mates, took me no time at all to see whats up. Apparently, a website called podbean.com hosts podcasts, and you can get a free podcast with decent bandwith and memory and shit for free, pretty cool. i looked around after signing up and you can get a few accounts, such as:

1. BASIC:: entry level $0.00/mo
(what i signed up for, 5 gb monthly bandwith as well as embeddable players, and itunes support, as well as others, pretty sickk)

2. BASIC PLUS:: audio/video blogger $2.99/mo
(basically everything in basic, but a huge upgrade in bandwith as well as storage space, among others)

3. ADVANCED:: cost-effective podcast $4.12/mo
(everything basic+ has, cept unlimited bandwith ((SWEET)) but a drop in storage space, and other shite, essentially a better version of basic+ with a monthly storage growth limit of 100 mb)

4. PRO:: "best value" $9.95/mo
(best one imo, great price for the deal! you get tons of shit, plus a monthly sotrage growth limit of 250. multiple author support and tons of great features and storage makes this really cool)

5. PREMIUM:: video podcast $19.95/mo
(basically, it has everything. even "google map placement and support". if a podcast has that, then its pretty fuckin good in my book)

Well, i hope i get some props for that list, took me a while to write, cheers dotBE heads Pleased

hey m8
thanks for the review on my track! nows my turn eh? lol
k so
In the intro/beginning, one of the hats is a bit offbeat. it still is throughout the whole song, but is really unnoticable except for in the intro.
im TOTALLY diggin the main melody on that short synth, really gives a bundle of flavor and warmth to the mix, and flute and strings fill it up man. great work in that aspect!
the reece is good, but needs more low end. kick needs to be more full and bassy, and the snare need a few more layers and some beefing up. [/opinion]
other than that, great job man! lookin forward to more tunes, and ill keep my eyes peeled for the final mix of this track!
im gunna request you on myspace, good job again.
