As I understand it, the fuel is not water but electricity, that is combined with water to produce HHO. You don't only have to refuel the water, but also recharge your batteries.
But as with al conversion of energy, you loose efficiency, so I still think that running off of pure electricity is more efficient.

The only pay-off source of hydrogen would be to find some source for a star, for instance, or somewhere in space where a star is just being born.

IMO, if they go to get some "fuel" from space, it won't be hydrogen...but helim 3.

A bit old, but very good article on it:

http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/helium3_000630.html

Bush mentioned not so long ago that he wants the US to go back on the moon pretty soon.. and I guess the US won't be the only one to go and get it, even tho the technology is not ready yet...Imagine, 25 tons could supply the entire United States energy needs for a year...

don't be Big Grin

Cynik is not 100% correct here (no offence mate). The new CPU are never straight from the R&D department, but they come from the server market. We have quad core for a good six months now in servers, and Intel will soon offer the sixtocore (if that's the correct word...six cores I mean Happy )

Cynik is absolutly right about overclocking a slower CPU, that will be more stable. But the thing is that not a single CPU will be the same as the previous one, or the next one: by that, I mean that a CPU of 3Ghz for example will be different from another 3Ghz CPU. The technology involved are not fully precise.

Take AMD: they make a 2.8 Ghz CPU. Then, they test it before they ship it... and that's where the "magic" happen: The test will never give an exact clock of 2.8Ghz. So if the results are 2.2 to 2.6, they won't sell it as an Athlon, but as a Sempron (the names are just to give an example..I don't think AMD makes Athlon anymore, but there you go..). If the test shows a clock of 2.9Ghz, they will sell it as a 2.8 Ghz Athlon.
And that is how it goes in the CPU busines: Too many factors involved to be sure to have the desired clock (due to dust in the air, factory line not fully compliant, default in the material used....). Same goes for Intel.

I personally don't overclock my CPU anymore. Nowaday, the CPU power is measured on performance/watt more than anything else.

So, you might be even more confused now Ghost... Big Grin I don't know the actual Intel offering on mobile I am afraid, but let's say you go for a middle range CPU, and you should be fine.

About that 4gb ram limit, I remeber how to go around it...well, in a server environment.

The trick is to edit the boot.ini file, and to add a /PAE switch in there. I cant remember where exactly, but I guess microsoft got some article about it. THe limit is 4 gb in a 32 bits environment, due to the limit of the physical address thingi. You can have more than 4Gb in a 64 bits environment, no prob at all...

This is true on a W2K3 server OS, I guess it should wok for XP...so go for 1Gb/core Big Grin

Good tip from Cynik if you are on a budget

1gb/core is a good start. XP won't be able to use more than 4Gb, unless tou trick it...
while vista doesn't have enough with 4Gb Roll Eyes

I heard/read somewhere that XP can't address 4gb properly so i thought i'd get 2gb of some high speed nasty ass RAM.

And i hate fista...sorry vista with a passion so thats out of the question.

I think you can get away with 4 Gb... but that would be the max. Nice machine btw..
Will you run raid at all?
can't wait for the laptop quad to hit Gaga

If I had another year to spare, I'll then wait for the amd quad Big Grin

Erm, no

Vista is based on XP
XP is based on 2000
2000 is based on NT4

Milennium IS 98 with some added features, mainly bugs.

well you are not completly right... client OS are based on server releases, therefore vista is based on 2k3, not xp.

2000 was def not based on NT4 as NT was the last windows OS using pure DOS. 2000 was a new "concept", to get away from that nt crap.

I personally would love to see a satble emu that run .exe on linux, but unlucky so far.

I don't think it turned too complicated, more polished as said earlier maybe..

This topic is very similar to a jungle/dnb one where views differ all the time. I started listening to jungle back in 95/96, and like7G said, the differences with hardcore at the time were slims. I was in the UK at the time, and I remember hearing for the first time the term dnb (around 99) when the music diverged to the techstep/heavy reeces/jump up type.

There is good and bad in every style, and I do enjoy good "neurofunk" as well as good jungle. Artists like evol intent, spor, apex, quadrant, gridlock, kryprtic mind and leon switch still produce fairly good beats imo. The upbeats style cover both "sides" if i can say, and that's very refreshing. Pendulum is another thing, they try to touch the pop side of dnb with their new album, and i don't think that's a good thing.

i know a really good french dnb producer: ? no i don't, if wobble-t is french so, it's my favourite french producer but the most famous i know are the jungle therapy krew, i don't really like their style, i rather prefer uk scene, it's more ... dunno, in france all people i know that produce music are producing harsh sounds, it seems like the devil is inside them you know, just hardstep tunes. they seems to not understand the art of wobbling or jump-up, you now, tunes that when you listen them you got a big smile and you start jumpin like super mario... very bad thing. (i'm talking of g-dub, hazard, modified motion... 7gun an Cboy hi hi hi Wink )
for french guys that listen to dis, i'm talking about what i notice in my circle, if you know french producers that produce what i'm demanding for, tell me i'm waiting.
djs: most famous i know is Dj Twelve, the only man that kept me bouncing (and all my friends) during all his set, amazing man. BIG UP TWELVE.
BIG UP FRENCHS ! Drummer
BIIIIIIIIIG UUUUUUUUP WORLDWIDEEEEEE

and i got to tell you that in france, 99.99% of the people young or old, don't know about drum'n bass !! amazing. they don't know what it is. 0.01% know about "jungle" the old name. Crying
and it's the fifth time i edit this post !

lol, where do you live in France? in the middle of the forest?? Big Grin just kidding man. check my previous post, maybe you'll like the first link...Kenei IS a bad man.
