Preciate it guys. Especially Gregg....very informative for sure. Back to the drawing board to redo this ish....also could it have anything to do with the fact that the synth is gated? and is kind of fluttering the bass in a way. Also about the mixdown, I just had the volume all the way on the master for my headphones, and exported it with volume all the way up...it doesnt truly sound like that, but there are alot of elements fighting for space for sure. Thanks again Drummer

Tying Bassline and Synth together 11-04-2011 05:04 Forum: Production questions & answers

OK i have been trying to figure this problem out for a week now, and I cant seem to get it right. If you listen to I Can Heal You......When it drops, I cannot get the synth and bassline to flow together to save my life. I have taken off every limiter, compressor, side chained em together, took the sidechain away from the snare, and it just isnt happening. It fades in and out behind the bass, and weakens the bass sound. Any help? The bass was made with Massive, and the synth with z3ta if that helps

I hear what your saying when it drops the vocals, the arp, and gltich synth all fade out....not really sure how to fix that too be honest. Also, I exported it with the volume all the way up, its not overly loud, if set back to normal....i just hadnt listened to it off my headphones yet...preciate the advice tho, you have any tricks how to fix the fade out that happens right at the drop?

Loving the intro....when the amen hits kinda throws you off for a sec, but then sounds very die/r.size like. I dig it! Good listen

Like the rollings beats. You should seriously think about a sick amen edits section to this track, cause it has all the right elements to be a killer jungle tune. The bassline is a little bland.....i like it but its messing something, cant put my finger on it. Maybe some disto, with tweaking to the hi end or something. Nice listen

Writing while listening...liking the liquidish intro, sets the mood. Snare could be a lil thicker, like the vocals. Ok the bass seems too have a lil too much mid bunch to it. I would cut it to just the Hi's n low's and then play with it from there. Could just be my ears tho too. Like what you got so far

Thats just a slowed tempo sample from this jungle/dnb pack....with some reverb on it. I cant tell you which pack it came from but I def know that sound. Sorry I couldnt help more....actually now that I think about it...the pack might have been available on this site...but its been awhile since I have downloaded any sort of samples.

Writing while listening....intro seems to have a lil too much hi...but holy shit that bass is nasty! I dunno what it is...but that bass needs to have a nastier break...it seems waaay too light and doesnt do the bass justice. Also maybe some edits and other basses to tie it all together. I like what you got so far

Writing while listening...loving the intro...sets the perfect mood. Amen comes in...you need to clean it up and add some ghost hits, to make it as clear and distinct as the rest of your tune...maybe some fade in and outs....would do it justice. Once it drops sounds much better. Like the bass, but wish it had a lil more umph. Again with the amen....you should stutter step edit it to flow better with the track. Def dig this tho. RespeKt!

Writing while listening. Nice intro...the piano seems to have a lil too much hi freq, but holy shit....that bass wow came out of nowhere, but love it. At like 0:45 when you dropped that panning synth was perfect. Liquid is def not my style but I like this the slowdown dropout at 2:55 is sick.....nice listen

Writing while listening. You breaks are all cluster fucked. Either sounds like bad editing or waaaay too much over use of glitch. No really distinct bass that I can tell off. The more I listen the more I know your using glitch....try and hand edit your breaks, you get a way more flowing distinct sound to your breaks. RespekT!

Not to shabby for some jungle bizzzz. If your gonna come hard like that you have to have waaay more edits. Bass is pretty sick! Sounds like your tune has just a lil too much hi's but the lows are pretty good. Not bad
