What EQ plugin's does everyone use?

I'm jus wondering cuz im still stuck with the fruity parametric eq and need to find a good new eq plugin.

eh..FL paremetric eq isnt THAT bad imo, i still use it

waves ranaissance.

waves ssl eq

for lopass automation and stuff i use glisseq

fruity paramatric eq is all i use. It's quite good imo

waves 8q parametric is awesome... makes shit sound better as well...

Still doin the FL Parametric EQ, not loving it too much tough. Must be something better out there though.

Wavelab for final mastering. And I use the Sony AP EQ plugin while I am laying the track out

whatever the default eq is for the system sually. since i use at least one a track, using anything else can take up a lot of cpu. mostly it gets the trick done. only use slight movements nothing that darastic.

mostly just low-cut rumble out of stuff, and clean up muddy mid lower.

mixing is about compressors and reverb, not so much eq. eqs arn't that important, what it comes down to is how sharp can they get?

good eq can remove a single harmonic. FL EQ doesn't do that, that well.


the EQSQ, i think it's called on FL, that has an analyser, is useful for mastering. it usually tells me i ahve to much bass and not enough high end, but besides that cleans up mud nicely. just bring the bottem end in a bit to normal, and the high always has to go down, but it's helpful to know hat's missing.

Sequencer's (cubase sx) built-in eq's, which covers 80% of my freq/eq-demands. When feeling adventurous, i mainly use URS or WAVES.

Simple but vital are my keywords here

EQ! <- my favourite tool after MPCs, distortion and noise-sources

Universal Audio Pultec <- Almost always on the masterbus and also on some individual tracks or groups.

Univesal Audio 1073 <- mm.. love this one.. makes almost anything sound a little bit better.

MOTU Masterworks EQ <- Alot less coloring. I never use it as an mastering EQ.. i mostly use it to cut away artifacts and stuff that i just don't wan't in there.

Sonalksis 517mk2 <- This is my "standard EQ".. i use it on most things just to controll the dynamics a little

Sonalksis DQ1 <- Ok.. the only reason for why i don't use this one as much as i really would wan't to is the interface. It's big and ugly.. but except from that.. it's great and i've had some really good experiences from it

My next EQ will be either the URS S-series, UA Helios or UA 1081.

I'm not that much into waves since i really don't feel they are worth the money or trouble (their licensingtype seems totally shitty).

Most eqs are the same under the skin, they're nearly all made using this.

I use fl's parametric eq 2 for most of my filtering/eq needs, it's really good imo. I like being able to see what you're doing, and with its 4 pass filters you can make some really sharp cuts, remove/isolate frequencies etc.

I use Fruity Parametric EQ 2.
