The free version only works on W98 and ME, but you can get a cheap version of around 350 euro that works with M-Audio hardware, the so-called 'M-Powered series'. Check the site for more info:

Wow so if you buy an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 and Protools LE you got a functioning protools system for only 450 euro!!
Or with that Ozonic keyboard you could run Protools on a laptop for less than 1000 euro
I'm gonna get me one of those!!
Would be great to do my edits at home and then take the finished projects to the studio.
stino
fuck I AM GOING TO BUY THAT SHIT!
Halph-Price
you can afford it
thechronic
A full protools system easily costs 10000 euro you know
If I save 100 euro a month I can have one for my birthday in february

Lucky I already got the laptop

thechronic
It was probably a free demo. If they had a free version that works on XP they would surely mention it on their website.

, i had pro tools a few years ago on pc and it sucks, it's for recording and editing live bands and not for electronic music, do you folks wanna make drum'n'bass with pro tools? well, good luck, pro tools just became a standard in studios because when it emerged there was no cubase sx, nuendo or even reason, with pro tools it's hard to make electornic music, it more for live recording of bands and a little editing of shit recorded and thats it. |
well your right in that its designed for recording, but its audio architecture sounds much better than cubase and logic.......its like the difference between an akai and emu sampler.they do the same job but just sound different. its the same principle of why reason sounds shit unless you rewire it.
im after pro tools for editing and mastering, that as well as the top quality beat detector.

i'm planning to buy this for my band
could save a lot of cash wasted in studio with stuff you can theoreticaly do yourself ( like editing, cleaning up instrument lines, effects placement, mixing,... )
I guess for us it would be a saving of 450 dollars and more every time we hit the studio.
what's best protools LE or M- powered or is there no difference? or do I just buy a M-box and i'm completely installed or what?
we'll see...
