vocals

Most of tracks have voice clips, vocals, so i was wondering where to get or how to create them, make them sound better and what effects do i need to add? I am a beginner. Also sorry for my bad english.

well you can record them to begin with, or search on free sample sites. or buy sample packs.

and with effects, I like a bit of distortion on my voices, and when they're like deep, I like to use the eq. and boost the low parts. also a little bit of reverb maybe.

Sometimes I sample short vocals off YouTube ..
I don't know what subgenre you're goin' for; but if you were making a dark tune, then I would suggest adding some flanging, a bit of overdrive, maybe lower the pitch as well ... oh, and for ANY subgenre, add reverb to vocals or certain parts; like if you were having a breakdown then you could have reverb increasing on your vocals, that'd sound good

Thanks for advices on effects, i will try to add them. And yeah, Ciaran, i want some of your capellas, will you send them to me? But i also read that the track may not contain copyrighted samples, so i' m not sure is it ok to do this. I usually make liquid dnb, maybe a little bit dark

Offcourse the last one will give you less trouble with copyright laws as the others. Although I don't think using snippets of acapellas will give that much problems!

As for vox I sample from movies & tv series I watch or I get them from places like ...

looperman, ccmixter, breakbeatparadise etc.

As for processing I tend to cut out a lot of bottom end, a bit of top, cut out bits where it needs cutting just sweep the frequencies with an eq

maybe a bit of compression.

automating delay onto tail of a vocal can create a nice effect.

maybe some reverb, unison whatever (depends on track)

I even use a vocoder sometimes.

Also another thing I like to do rather than drop a whole sample into a track is cut it up word for word so you can add them where needed or you can use an app or your daw if it allows you to timestretch them to the tracks tempo (bpm)

I sample from public domain movies. There are a lot of great voices and music to sample from these movies and since they are public domain you are safe from copyright problems.
